Beck stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday evening to perform “Paper Tiger” with a full orchestra.
Since Jimmy Kimmel is out for the week, Martin Short is currently filling in for the host — throughout the episode, he chatted with his Only Murders in the Building co-star Selena Gomez, interviewed Sean Hayes as his old absurd character Jiminy Glick, and had a conversation with Beck about the artist’s origins in New York, getting confused for David Spade, and the time he was denied entrance to a party with Paul McCartney.
Beck then took the stage for a special rendition of Sea Change cut “Paper Tiger,” performed with an orchestra behind him. The appearance was a preview for Beck’s forthcoming orchestral tour, where he’ll play alongside numerous regional ensembles — including the Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Lenox, Massachusetts with the Boston Pops Orchestra, and New York’s Carnegie Hall with the Orchestra Of St. Luke’s (get tickets here).
He’s also got a slew of festivals set for the fall, including Bourbon & Beyond, Evolution Festival, South Star Festival, and the recently-announced Riot Fest and Corona Capital.
