Smart Start: Salary Negotiation Workshop

Join us for the Gender Action Project: Feminist Frames Launch party on Friday, May 24th, from 6-8 pm, in the Women's Center.



Feminist Frames features a physical and online accessible Zine of Feminist Narratives of First-Gen Immigrant Children in America, centering on the intersection of different social identities through lived experiences and its impact on an individual's view on feminist thought among undergraduate students at UC San Diego.

Let’s Talk About Menopause!

Join us for an open conversational space created for Campus Staff & Faculty where we will explore the topic of menopause and support one another through sharing experiences, feelings, resources, and strategies to better navigate an often-challenging phase of life.

 

Participants will be invited to share their menopause related topics of interest for future monthly meeting discussions. Personal medical questions must be reserved for consultation with a healthcare provider.

 

This is a collaboration with the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) and the Women’s Center, facilitated by Izabel Caetano Francy, LCSW, and Jennifer Triana, LCSW, FSAP licensed clinicians, and menopause champion Jess Geipel, all of whom recognize that menopause affects people differently and understand that one person’s experience does not represent all people’s experience.

World Bee Day: Native Bees in a Changing World

World Bee Day Lecture ft PhD Student Jess Mullins

Visit Geisel Library’s Seuss Room at noon for a lecture about the native bees of San Diego by Jess Mullins, a PhD student in the Ecology, Behavior and Evolution Department. Also presented during this World Bee Day program will be a live performance of Renaissance composer Charles Butler’s “Bee Madrigal” featuring singers Libby Weber, Helen Mout, Brad Fox and Scott Paulson. Of note, madrigal composer Butler (1571–1647) was also an important beekeeper of the era.
