Yara International's President & CEO Svein Tore Holsether and The Republic of Singapore’s President Tharman Shanmugaratnam met in Geneva.   Both sides had a fruitful discussion on topics ranging from smallholder farmers’ access to technology to the use of ammonia in maritime shipping.    Yara is ready to partner with Singapore closely to boost its #FoodSecurity and #Decarbonise maritime sustainably for win-win outcomes. This is given our unique position and industry-leading solutions in agriculture and shipping.    Already, we are in the game of co-innovating solutions to address food security and climate challenges. In Singapore, our Thryve Innovation CoLab is dedicated to scaling these regionally and beyond.   Meanwhile, Yara Clean Ammonia (YCA) actively collaborates with Singaporean stakeholders, businesses, and international players to establish a reliable and resilient clean ammonia supply chain to the country to serve power generation and the shipping fuel market. ✨ Denne uken deltok Yara Clean Ammonia på Arendalsuka 2024, hvor vi debatterte med eksperter, industriledere og politikere om hvordan den maritime sektoren skal formes for at Norge skal være verdensledende som grønn skipsnasjon. Med grunnlag fra tidligere års Arendalsuker – der vi har snakket om kritiske utfordringer for bærekraftig skipsfart – gikk årets diskusjoner fremover med samtaler om hvoran vi skal skalere løsningene som trengs for raskt å kutte utslippene fra maritim sektor. Viktige punkter fra våre panelsamtaler: ✅ til en bærekraftig maritim fremtid avhenger av hvor raskt vi kan overvinne økonomiske og regulatoriske utfordringer. Offentlig-private partnerskap er nøkkelen til å akselerere denne prosessen. ✅ FoU-initiativ mellom offentlige institusjoner og private selskaper har fremskyndet utviklingen av essensiell infrastruktur, som ammoniakk-bunkerstasjoner og forsyningskjeder ✅Den tekniske utviklingen har gjort enorme fremskritt og er ikke lenger en stor barriere. Næringslivet er klar til å ta neste steg og skalere fra pilotprosjekter til kommersiell drift. Det begynner å haste å få på plass forutsigbare rammebetingelser og regelverk. ✅ Partnerskap og dialog er avgjørende for å forme støttende regulatoriske rammeverk. Godt samarbeide mellom offentlig og privat sektor vil sikre at politikken blir kalibrert med næringens behov, og at tiltak og insentiver fremmer rask omstilling til bærekraftige løsninger. 🎉 Takk og videre utsikter: YCA’s sterke posisjon i midtstrømssegmentet gjør oss godt rustet til å aktivere nye nedstrøms markedssegmenter, og gir et godt grunnlag for utvikling av nye, konkurransedyktige prosjekter for ammoniakk med lavt karbonavtrykk. Arendalsuka er allerede godt i gang og Yara International deltar i samtalene her om blant annet matsikkerhet, avkarbonisering av industri og bærekraftig matproduksjon. 🌾 Matsikkerhet på agendaen   Matsikkerhet er satt på agendaen av flere aktører her i Arendal. De siste årene med konflikt, krig og økt regionalisering har bidratt til å gjøre matsystemet enda skjørere. Vi ser økt import av russisk gjødsel til Europa, høyere energipriser, prisvekst og geopolitisk uro. Midt i dette skal også industrien gjennom en storstilt omstilling og avkarbonisering for å nå klimamålene. Jeg er glad for å delta i samtaler om matsikkerhet gjennom uken og gjennom disse samtalene høre at både politikere, næringsliv og organisasjoner er opptatt av hvordan vi sammen kan bidra til trygge og bærekraftige matsystemer. 🌱 Natur og matproduksjon    På Norads scene var temaet Mat og natur - går det i hop?    For Yara er det viktig å sørge for mat til verdens befolkning på en ansvarlig og bærekraftig måte. Den geopolitiske situasjonen, flere konflikter, klimaendringer, ekstremvær og naturtap setter fremtidens globale matsikkerhet, og også vår trygghet, i fare. This summer marked a major milestone in our decarbonization journey with the opening of our new renewable hydrogen plant at Herøya, Norway! 🎉   💬 At the opening event, we spoke to partners on the ground about the importance of low-emission ammonia and why it is critical to decarbonize the food value chain.     🤝 Partnerships have been crucial to this project and will be critical to enable the hydrogen economy.
