“The Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World” has a new edition on the horizon that will leave hardcore fans and casual fans alike wanting more

While Walt Disney World may be open right now, the majority of us aren’t traveling on vacation. 2020 has done plenty in the first ten months. And for those of us who head to Disney World on a consistent basis, this is heartbreaking.

But fear not! The Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World is releasing its third edition on October 20th, just in time for you to have a new outlet from which to get your Disney fix.

If you’re a hardcore Disney person like me, you have a solid knowledge of behind-the-scenes facts, Hidden Mickeys in the parks, and general facts cast members have imparted upon you over the years. If you’re a casual fan or just interested in learning a bit more, you might know a few things.

But there’s always so much more than you can even imagine.

The Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World‘s third edition adds in the most recent additions to the parks, including Pandora, Toy Story Land, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

But it’s not just the new additions that this book gives you. It’s a thorough and organized breakdown that author Susan Veness offers. Are you looking for all of the trivia on Main Street USA and the names in the second-story windows? Or the inside jokes around the tombstones as you wait in line at the Haunted Mansion?

As the Magic Kingdom closes in on its 50th anniversary, it’s fun to see just how far and expansive things have become in those five decades.

But this book doesn’t just cover the Magic Kingdom. If you’re missing the Maelstrom ride that used to be in the Norway pavilion at Epcot, you’ll love the fun little nods to it in Oaken’s Tokens. Or if you’ve ever wondered how difficult it would be to climb the real Mt. Everest, there’s a nice breakdown of what that entails.

And none of this even touches on the new additions of the book, like all of the Easter eggs in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The amount of detail in just this one land will make your head spin. But of course, it’s to be expected. It’s Disney, after all.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway opened in Hollywood Studios just before COVID shut things down. The amount of Hidden Mickeys and callbacks to old Mickey Mouse shorts may just boggle your mind.

Not all of us have the time to splurge on a trip to Walt Disney World, especially not as often as we’d like. New books like this help sate our Disney cravings. Plus, it could be an easy Christmas gift for the Disney nerd in your life!
