GSA Transactions Tool

Measuring the efficiency and effectiveness of internal processes is a key performance metric at GSA and a means for providing customer service and achieving savings and public policy objectives. The metrics to support this objective include but are not limited to: transactions per FTE, spend per FTE, function cost to spend ratio, and function cost per transactions. The Office of Governmentwide Policy created the Transactions Data Tool to provide an interactive visualization of trends by comparing totals per fiscal year, by quarters, and obligation size (non-zero dollar actions- obligations and deobligations only). The tool allows users to drill into the data to understand how GSA is managing spend and transactions across its acquisition workforce, gather insight on the drivers of newly adopted measures of acquisition efficiency, identify when awards will expire to forecast workload and conduct acquisition planning.
