In 2019 a major change in weight measurement took place: the calibration standard was changed from a small platinum cylinder "Le Grand K" to a natural constant. This significantly increased the accuracy for demanding weight measurements and is only possible by using large scale kibble balances, as e.g. the NIST-4 Kibble balance. To make such highly accurate weight measurements accessible to more areas, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) started a project for developing ultra-compact table top kibble balances. Find more info on the the NIST Kibble balance project here https://lnkd.in/dzz4Aj64 Visit our webpage to learn how such ultra-precise force measurements are supported by the IDS3010 https://lnkd.in/dpbbGvUX #Kibblebalance #IDS3010 #forcemeasurement #NIST

Making ultra-sensitive measurements easy! Our new flagship cryostat - the attoDRY2200 - sets a new benchmark for ultra-low vibration measurements in dry cryogenics: The comparison between attoDRY2200 and a liquid cryostat shows that both measurements yield the same resolution under similar measurement conditions. If anything, the ct-AFM image of tBLG shows slightly better signal-to-noise in the dry environment, confirming the excellent damping of vibrations in the attoDRY2200. **Sample courtesy of Jiacheng Zhu and Kin Fai Mak (Cornell University, USA); access to attoLIQUID2000 cryostat courtesy of Istvan Kezsmarki (Universität Augsburg, Germany) Get more info on the attoDRY2200 here https://lnkd.in/dRRypUvM #cryogenicinstruments #LTAFM #cryogenics #attoDRY2200 #drycryogenics
