    I just returned from Türkiye, where we celebrated a special milestone with our MediaMarkt Turkey team: the opening of our 100th #MediaMarkt store in this great country. Reaching 100 stores is more than just a number; it stands for the dedication and hard work of our incredible MediaMarkt Türkiye team over the years. 👉 It shows the impressive growth journey to becoming the market leader. 👉 It reflects the excellent customer experience our team provides every day. 👉 It highlights the growth in our services and solutions business, and retail media through our omnichannel approach. 👉 It represents the strong, long-standing partnerships we’ve built. At our celebration, over 300 partners joined us to mark this special occasion. We couldn’t have reached this point without your trust and support. Thank you for standing by us.     #Listen, #learn, and #exchange: I firmly believe that leading a company successfully requires listening, learning, and seeking constructive feedback from everyone in the organization. Everyone has a voice. And the most important voices are often the ones not visible enough. Hierarchy doesn’t make you an expert or entitle you to the right views or insights. One year ago, I launched a format called "Meet the CEO" at MediaMarktSaturn. Each month, colleagues can sign up on a first-come basis to meet me for brunch. We have honest conversations, employees ask great and challenging questions, and they share the issues they face or anything they'd like my take on. And they also offer positive feedback. Much of the time, I'm in listening mode, taking notes on what we need to improve, learning. I share my perspective. And often, I don't have the answer. But I feel encouraged to do more. These meetings are incredibly rewarding. I aim to leave people energized—and I leave with much more energy, too… We have great people from all walks of life. People with great loyalty for our company, With vast experience and a sharp sense of what needs to change. With passion for what they do and for our brand. People who are curious, eager to contribute, learn, and grow. This format has allowed me to meet people from all hierarchy levels, in an open way, that I might not have met otherwise. I am grateful for the feedback, and I want to hear the real deal. I also ask that we stay constructive and find ways to improve and be better. What pleases me most is to see the commitment, passion and energy of our employees. Thanks to all the participants so far—your constructive ideas and honest words were invaluable!     Eat. Sleep. Game. Repeat: #Gamescom 2024 is the ultimate event of the year for any gamer. People from across the globe gather at the world’s largest video game expo to check out the 1400 exhibitors – which is a new record. Personally, I’m not surprised at all, considering how the industry is booming for us and has seen steady growth in recent years. Visitors get the chance to test unreleased games, meet their favorite icons, and connect with fellow gamers. This approach aligns perfectly with MediaMarktSaturn’s 'Experience Electronics' strategy. In both cases, it’s all about trying, exploring, and experiencing. Let me share a few insights into why the gaming industry holds such significance for us: 👉 As reported by the German Games Industry Association, sales of games, consoles, PCs, and subscription services in Germany alone reached approximately €4.3 billion in the first half of the year. 👉 Hardware, games, and gaming accessories represent highly attractive categories for us. 👉 This gaming community is not only well-informed and up-to-date but also  invests significantly in their gear. 👉 In 2023, digital downloads made up 60% of PC and console game purchases in Germany, indicating a significant shift, according to GfK and data.ai. However, this trend differs across platforms. PC gamers overwhelmingly choose downloads, with >95% now buying games digitally. Console gamers still prefer physical copies, with 60% of console games sold on physical media. So, what steps are we taking to connect more closely with our special gaming audience? We've created our own unique store format, the XPERION Germany, an experiential world that feels like an entertainment trade fair, where everyone can explore technology with a focus on gaming, e-sports, and social media, all in one place. Our goal is to showcase our passion for the gaming sector, establish ourselves as a trusted partner, and further strengthen our brand image. There are already two Xperions in Germany, located in Cologne and Berlin, and we’ll open the next one in Hamburg on September 5.     Sifan Hassan, who won the Olympic marathon last Sunday, could be an excellent CFO ... and could have told a story or two about our Q3 numbers for MediaMarktSaturn and CECONOMY today.   I am sure most of you will have seen this: Stamina and excellent training carried her over most of the course in Paris last Sunday. On the last stretch, however, she sprinted to victory! Balancing this need for speed with endurance in a marathon is similar to finding the fine line between financial discipline and the pursuit of growth. And our Q3 figures show just this balance, underpinned by a solid strategic and financial framework.   In essence, we clocked a Q3 performance that mirrored the intensity of a sprint within our ongoing marathon of strategic transformation - with several impressive milestones:   🏁 📈 Immediate Gains: We hit the ground running, achieving a 6.6% jump in sales and a +€ 9 million gain in adjusted EBIT, making it six consecutive quarters of year-on-year growth. 🏁 📈 Consistent Performance: Our stamina showed with a strong increase in online sales and a significant plus in our growth businesses, proving that our pace in the omnichannel race is both steady and impactful. 🏁 📈 Strategic Pacing: Driven by disciplined cost management, our cashflow improved by €100 million year-on-year in Q3, demonstrating our commitment to balancing speed with long-term financial health. 🏁 📈 Refueling with purpose: To recharge our energy, we successfully placed a €500 million sustainability bond maturing in 2029, laying the foundation for a stable, long-term funding structure.   These strides in Q3 are no coincidence; they are the manifestation of our strategy we promised at our Capital Markets Day and our evolution from a pure retailer to a service-oriented platform.   A huge thank you to Karsten Wildberger for mapping the route and to every team member whose dedication has brought us here.     MediaMarktSaturn and CECONOMY - growth and further improved profitability 📈: Today, our CFO Dr. Kai-Ulrich Deissner and I presented our strong Q3 results to analysts and the press - our sixth consecutive quarter of growth. This success has led us to also raise our sales outlook, following last quarter's increase in our EBIT guidance. This underlines the impact of our strategy, with success evident in our growth areas such as Private Label, Marketplace, Retail Media and Services and Solutions.   What this means in figures:  👉 Services & Solutions revenue grew 18.1%.  👉 Marketplace revenue (GMV) more than doubled. We now have almost 1,500 sellers on our platform, offering around 1.6 million products.  👉 Our own brand sales grew by 22%.  👉 Customer satisfaction rises to a new high.   Our omnichannel concept, integrating the online and offline worlds, has been well received by our customers, as we grew both online and offline in the last quarter. Our customer-centric approach is also paying off: over the course of the third quarter, the Net Promoter Score (NPS) reached 61 points, surpassing the previous high from the second quarter by 6 points.   None of this would be possible without the commitment of our people. I am incredibly proud of the achievements of our team.     Q3 2023/24 for #Ceconomy and #MediaMarktSaturn is in the books! Our performance continues to drive up sales and earnings, marking the sixth consecutive quarter of growth. Through careful liquidity management and rigorous cost control, we have fortified our financial stability. Furthermore we adjusted our outlook for the full financial year 2023/24 slightly upwards: We expect a moderate increase in currency- and portfolio-adjusted total sales and an adjusted EBIT in the range between €290 million and €310 million.
