“OUT OF OFFICE.MP4” For their newest cooperation with adidas, Clusterduck worked together with Xi Design to create a massive mural painting inspired by biophilic design and synesthetic perception! Picking up on modern aesthetics shaping the digital and urban context such as Anti Style, Ignorant Drawing, and Frutiger Aero, Clusterduck shows the experience of a person who, while listening to music on her/his/their computer, visualizes nostalgic, happy, or trippy memories evoked by those sounds, blurring the boundaries between the physical (IRL, short for “In Real Life”) and the digital world (URL, “Uniform Resource Locator”, colloquially known as a web address) in the process. Since our online and offline activities are capable of changing our brains, for the better or worse, Clusterduck likes to remind us that maintaining a balance between the two worlds is crucial for our mental well-being! Clusterduck is an interdisciplinary collective working at the crossroads of research, design and transmedia, focusing on the processes and actors behind the creation of Internet related content. Clusterduck is a germinal collective intelligence born out of the hybridization of online and real-life interactions. Clusterduck is an attempt to mess with social engineering by means of symbolic manipulation. Clusterduck is a bunch of badass guyz and galz who like to waste time online. Clusterduck is the weird kid staring at you from across the virtual schoolyard. Clusterduck is the incidental manifestation of these messed up times. Clusterduck is contemplating the depths of Internet. Over the course of two years, Clusterduck has come to build a large network of digital creators, engaging on research chats, groups and initiatives. Among the latest projects is the online exhibition #MEMEPROPAGANDA, hosted by Greencube Gallery, who gave life to numerous public events dedicated to meme and propaganda in many cities around Europe. The group also participated in the 2017 edition of The Wrong Digital Biennale, curating the Berlin pavilion "Internet Fame" together with panke.gallery, and other digital exhibits such as "Make URL self at Home" at Arebyte On Screen and "Pack Your Stuff" on Offsite Project. The collective is currently composed of over a dozen members, spread among different locations worldwide, but mainly based in Berlin and Italy.
