Congratulations to all the German paralympic athletes on your participation and wins at the Summer Paralympic Games 2024 in Paris! 🥇 🇩🇪 Of the 143 athletes and 5 guides from Team Germany, all have received support from the German Sports Aid Foundation (Sporthilfe) at some point in the course of their careers. As a partner of the foundation for more than twenty years, we at Deutsche Bank are extremely proud of this number. A cornerstone of the partnership with Sporthilfe is the Deutsche Bank Sports Scholarship, which helps student athletes combine competitive sports with a professional career. At least one out of seven adults aged 15 and above lacks basic literacy skills, and some 250 million children of 6-18 years old are out of school. Today’s International #LiteracyDay aims to highlight the critical importance of literacy for creating a more literate, just, peaceful, and sustainable society. 🤝 At Deutsche Bank, we are dedicated to helping people from all walks of life reach their full potential. We aim to improve access to education and to remove barriers to educational attainment through over 130 projects. In the US, we partner with Read Alliance to support a dual impact program that empowers kindergarten children to second grade with confidence and foundational skills in reading while empowering teen leaders as tutors for their younger peers. Through Teaching Matters, we are supporting teachers with their small group intensive work with struggling young readers in underserved schools. In India, we partner with Teach For India to ensure a quality education to children attending government schools. Together with The Akshaya Patra Foundation in India and Rotaract District Organization in Sri Lanka, we provide children with meals every school day as an incentive to come to school. Since 2014, our education initiatives have reached over 6 million people in more than 30 countries. Hackers pose a threat to companies worldwide 👨💻 Many companies have strengthened their defense measures against cyber-attacks and are constantly developing them, just as we do at Deutsche Bank. Nevertheless, we are constantly faced with new methods of attack, such as the current supply chain attack. Here, companies are not attacked directly, but rather partners and suppliers with whom a company works are targeted. The partner or supplier is then used as a springboard to attack the actual target. Phishing, which is still frequently used, is also a well-known attack pattern that is becoming increasingly sophisticated. Emails are sent that contain a link or attachment that you are supposed to click on. As soon as you click on this link or attachment, the attackers can steal passwords or infect a computer. 🚨 Beware: quishing is the new phishing! Hackers are becoming bolder and bolder. Bank customers and some media outlets have reported that a new scam is going around: phishing via letter/QR code, known as quishing! 📲 ✉️ Victims receive a letter, often without any spelling or punctuation errors, informing them about essential security measures linked to their financial transactions. The letter says that incidents of fraud have been detected with the usual photoTan security procedure, and that this is why the update is needed. Recipients are then instructed to scan a QR code, falling into the trap set up by the fraudsters. After scanning the code, they are prompted to enter their account details, potentially giving hackers access to their accounts. 💳 🖐️ Here are five tips on how to protect yourself from quishing. Note: While no cases of fraud have been reported involving our brand to date, we want everyone to be aware of this new scam. #Quishing #Phishing #CyberSecurity
