Back at it again at our facility in Brewster, NY. I love this work. 💙 This week, the Dunmore team at our Brewster facility is participating in a week-long Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) event on our B8 Coating Line. 🔵 ⚪ For those unfamiliar, a SMED event is a lean manufacturing process focused on reducing equipment setup times ⌚, allowing for quicker transitions between production runs. It’s a vital part of our continuous improvement mindset, aimed at increasing efficiency and productivity. 📈 Although the event is still underway, I am so proud of the team that I had to share this on LinkedIn before it concludes. I feel like a proud parent watching this team go above and beyond just “checking the box.” They are truly committed to this event, demonstrating their investment in the future of our business, which inspires me to “double down” on my investment in them. Everyone is engaged and contributing. Guided by Scott McDuffee, mentored by Gabrielle Connolly, CI Manager, supported by David Song, SH&E Manager, and Alex Mendoza, Production Supervisor, the event is being led by Conor Baker, Production Operator. They have been arriving every day at 4 AM along with Matt DiLissio, John Tecl, and Bright Osagie Eze, a visiting intern from our parent company, Steel Partners Holdings. This event will continue through Thursday, spanning days and shifts. The impact is immediate and intentional. With the ongoing increase in volume and business, this foundational work is essential for our continued growth. A massive shout out to the team at Brewster for leaning into this event.
