Elon Musk introduced the North American Charging Standard (NACS) for charging cables, which initially met with scepticism but gained traction when Ford and GM announced their adoption. The industry followed suit, with many manufacturers planning to release vehicles with NACS inlets by 2025. Charging cables for different currents will be available by the end of 2024, with customized vehicle charging inlets also in production.
