Aerospace-X flies at full speed ✈ The first on-site workshop of the Aerospace-X research project after the kick-off took place in Berlin this week. The entire team had two exciting days full of brainstorming and conceptual work. It was an important meeting, also in order to clearly define the next steps in the end-to-end quality management work package, which is coordinated by gemineers. Many thanks to Airbus for the great organization, including some fun icebreaker games! Bringing the team together like no other! Also many thanks to the Fraunhofer IPK for hosting the event and to all participants. Looking forward to the next working session! The goal of Aerospace-X is to enhance the competitiveness, resilience, and sustainability of supply chains in the German, European, and, ultimately, the global aviation industry, based on an open and collaborative data ecosystem. The consortium, under the coordination of Airbus, comprises high-class OEM and Tier-n manufacturing companies, digital solution providers, and research institutions from the aerospace sector. The research initiative funded by the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz has an overall budget of more than 50 million euros and a duration of over two years. #aerospace #gemineers #dataspaces #digitaltwin

On 16th and 17th of July, the Aerospace-X consortium held its first in-presence alignment workshop in Berlin ✔. Besides the project leader, work package leaders and our Supply Chain Leaders, nearly all funding partners participated with at least one representative. Day 1️⃣ 1 was primarily dedicated to an Aerospace-X internal alignment and allowed to ensure that leaders share a common mission and have full transparency of current status and priorities across the work packages and streams. On day 2️⃣, we extended the scope to look at the collaboration between Aerospace-X and further initiatives. Hence, we were able to establish a recurring forum for synchronization and alignment between Aerospace-X and other data spaces initiatives ongoing inside Airbus and in cooperation with further industrial partners. Finally, there was an alignment on key milestones, deliverables, and ways-of-working across projects going forward ▶ . The discussions took place in a very open, focused and target-oriented spirit and the agenda also allowed for side-discussions between individual project members as well as for welcoming new project members. Well done! - Marcel Wilms von der gemineers GmbH ist unser virtueller #Gussprofi und Sieger der #SiempelkampGiesserei VR-Challenge!   Vom 04. bis 06. Juni hatten alle Besucher*innen der CastForge die Möglichkeit, im Rahmen eines eigens entwickelten VR-Games an unserer virtuellen #Gusschallenge teilzunehmen. Dabei mussten Teilnehmende zwei spezifische Hauptaufgaben meistern. Die erste Herausforderung bestand darin, im Zuge der #Ofensteuerung korrekte Zugaben unter Beachtung des Temperaturrahmens zu berechnen. Die Säuberung eines Gussteils mit einem virtuellen Winkelschleifer war die zweite Herausforderung.   Niemand erreichte hierbei eine bessere Punktzahl als Marcel Wilms (743 Punkte), der sich sogar mit deutlichem Abstand vor dem zweiten Platz (648 Punkte) die #Siegerprämie sichern konnte – ein iPhone 15 Pro!   Wir sagen: Herzlichen #Glückwunsch, exzellente Gießereiarbeit und viel Spaß mit dem Gewinn!   #siempelkamp #siempelkampgiesserei #gemineers #digitaltwin #guss #casting #foundry #forging

[…]“ In the current issue of WirtschaftsWoche, Dr. Masahiko Mori, President of DMG MORI, reports on the cooperation between Japan and Germany. When asked how close his contact with DMG MORI Germany is, he mentions, among other things, his recent visit to gemineers. We are very pleased that in this context he also emphasizes our ongoing cooperation towards a seamless integration of the gemineers Digital Twin platform into the DMG MORI ecosystem: “[…] I was also at the five-year-old start-up gemineers, which builds digital twins for machining to check accuracy. We will incorporate it as standard in our new operating system. As you can see: Germany is still innovative in mechatronics, even compared to France, the UK and the USA.” At gemineers, we firmly believe that the idea of the digital twin is now understood by the majority of industrial companies and is perceived as profitable. We are all the more pleased that the discussions are no longer about whether the technology makes sense, but how and when it can be introduced profitably. We are excited to share the continued success of the cooperation between Aeronamic and gemineers. Together with the Fraunhofer-Institut für Produktionstechnologie IPT, we are supporting Aeronamic in the prototyping and series production ramp-up for some of the most challenging next-generation aero engine components. Aeronamic, renowned for its high-speed rotating components and systems, relies on the gemineers Digital Twin Platform on a Hermle C22 and a GROB G550T. This significantly enhances process design and optimization and enables continuous process monitoring during the production of complex aerospace parts.
