📦🚁 Elevating Operations with HESLO 🚁📦 Meet HESLO – Helicopter External Sling Load Operations. At HeliService, we use HESLO for precise and efficient transport of cargo to challenging locations. Our AW169 helicopter is capable of transporting loads up to 1 ton, with a load hook approved for up to 1.5 tons. With a maximum cruise speed of 100 KIAS (approx. 185 km/h), our three-person crew (Pilot, Copilot, and HESLO Task Specialist) ensures safe and reliable delivery. The HESLO Process: 📋 Preparation: Prior training, meticulous planning, obtaining approvals, road closures, fuel calculations, and precision flying. 🧰 Equipment: • Cargo box for spare parts, generators, electric motors, etc. • Attachment point at the cargo hook of the helicopter. • Slings & cargo hook attached to the slings of the cargo box. 🚁 Operation: • Load must be positioned on the right side or in front of the helicopter. • Helicopter hovers into the proper position to pick up the load. • Pilots ensure no pendular movement for safe transport. With a record of 0 accident cases, our Helicopter Hoist Operations (HHO) are designed to ensure maximum safety and efficiency, even under challenging conditions. Here are some key safety notes: 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲: • 𝗧𝘄𝗶𝗻-𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆: We operate only twin-turbine helicopters offshore. Even with one engine inoperative, our helicopters can either continue or abort the hoist procedure safely. • 𝗔𝗪-𝟭𝟯𝟵 & 𝗔𝗪-𝟭𝟲𝟵: These state-of-the-art helicopters used by us can hover steadily without any height loss for at least 2 1⁄2 minutes, providing sufficient time to safely abort or complete the hoist procedure. 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆: • 𝗛𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: The recommended hover height above the basket of a wind turbine is approximately 6 meters (approx. 20 feet). For platforms or ships, the hover height is variable to ensure optimal safety. • 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀: In the event of an engine failure, our helicopters are capable of maintaining a stable hover, allowing for safe completion or abortion of the hoist operation and a safe flight to the closest aerodrome.
