Marley Spoon made exciting progress in packaging and waste management, which we’ve shared in our Non-Financial Report 2023. We remain steadfast in our commitment to sustainability and maintaining a lean supply chain, ensuring we use available resources responsibly. 🌱 In 2023, 85% of all packaging purchased by weight was reusable or recyclable. ♻ We’re extremely proud to announce the successful implementation of water-based ice packs across Europe, diverting 452,000 kilograms of material from landfills and incinerators.🚰 Our cooling pouches and liners in the US and Europe are now made entirely from renewable sources, making them easy to dispose of and recycle. At Marley Spoon, our goal is to achieve a Zero Waste certification, redirecting 90% of waste from our facilities away from landfills and incineration. 💡 We're excited to share that our ongoing efforts resulted in a 69% waste diversion rate in 2023, a 6% increase YoY! We are excited to announce the release of our first Non-Financial Report for the year 2023. 🙌 Sustainability is a vital component of the Marley Spoon strategy, and this report reflects our commitment to transparency and provides specific details for our stakeholders on our sustainability progress in 2023 and future ambitions. 🌱 We are pleased to have made progress across various aspects of our sustainability agenda, from various packaging achievements like introducing water-based ice-packs, various energy efficiency improvements, and focusing on reducing our carbon footprint.💡 At Marley Spoon, we are a diverse team with more than 75 nationalities and a balanced team-member gender ratio, promoting social responsibility and empowering our team members to positively impact our communities through volunteering opportunities and donations. A few weeks ago, some of our Berlin team came together to volunteer at the Berliner Tafel e.V.! 😊 Berliner Tafel is a non-profit aid organisation that distributes food of impeccable quality, that is no longer used and would otherwise be destroyed. Over 350 social institutions receive food from the Berliner Tafel and they support around 90,000 people each month. 🍓🥗 🥑 At Marley Spoon we believe in building a better everyday for our customers, as well as for our communities. 🌱 It makes us very happy to say, that our team packed over 750 bags of food in total for people in need and rescued over 6 pallets of fresh veggies & hundreds of kilos of bread. 🥕🍞 Big thanks to everyone who volunteered! 🤗 📝 Interested in signing up yourself?
