On display: The Embraer C-390 Millennium at Farnborough International Airshow 2024. Powered by the V2500. The IAE V2500 is a two-shaft turbofan engine specially designed for narrowbody aircraft. It is used to power a number of aircraft, including the Airbus A319, A320, and A321. A major advancement on this engine, the IAE V2500Select-One™, was introduced in September 2008. Compared to the V2500-A5, this version offers a 1 percent drop in fuel consumption and achieves a 20 percent increase in on-wing operating time. The V2500-E5 is the engine version for the Embraer C-390 transport aircraft, as seen on the photos. MTU has a 16 percent share in the IAE V2500 and is responsible for the entire low-pressure turbine as well as for numerous accessories. The development and manufacture of the IAE V2500 is in collaboration with Pratt & Whitney and the Japanese Aero Engines Corporation. To market the engines, a joint venture—International Aero Engines AG (IAE)—was founded in 1983. To date, this engine fleet has completed more than 280 million flight hours. Repairs to the V2500-A5 and V2500-E5 models is handled by MTU Maintenance, which offers the full range of maintenance and overhaul services. This also includes extensive repair capabilities. #FIA2024 #WeAreEngineExperts #Aerospace #Airshow #ApexofAviationtwin

MTU x #B2Run 🏃 Yesterday, a record number of 350 MTU colleagues took part in the 5 km B2Run in Munich's Olympic Park. Some enjoyed a relaxed run side by side, while others were ambitious to achieve their personal best. But what mattered most to everyone was the time spent together, the focus on the goal, and the networking aspect that comes with a sporting event. After the run, everyone was greeted at our team booth (and the sun) with snacks and drinks. Thanks for the athletic performance and team spirit – we're looking forward to next year's B2Run! #WeAreEngineExperts #PassionForEngines #UpliftYourFuture
Summer, Sun & #PassionForEngines ☀️🎉 Under the motto: „Passion for engines – 90 years & beyond“ our Munich colleagues came together to celebrate our 90th anniversary and enjoy the great atmosphere at this year's summer party. DJs, a dance floor, a variety of culinary delights, sports activities and an MTU People & Culture Rally - a competition on diversity, equal opportunities and inclusion - made this event a party to remember. Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us! #MTUFamily #TeamSpirit #Sommerfest #SummerParty #PassionForEngines
Bavaria's Minister-President congratulates on MTU’s 90th anniversary Dr. Markus Söder came to the MTU summer party in Munich as a guest of honor and was once again able to see for himself how we are shaping the future of aviation. In keeping with the anniversary motto “90 years & beyond – Passion for Engines”, the Executive Board and representatives of the Works Council gave the Minister-President not only an insight into MTU’s history. They also showed off what has made us world-famous for decades – innovative commercial and military engine technologies for today, tomorrow, and beyond. #PassionForEngines #WeAreEngineExperts

Opening of the world’s most modern turbine disk manufacturing in Munich. It’s 34 meters tall, has a total usable area of 14,000 square meters, and contains 12,500 tons of concrete and structural steel: recently, we officially inaugurated our new manufacturing hall in Munich. The production facility is the tallest building at the site, and it is exceptional not just because of its construction. “With this building, we are opening the world’s most modern, automated manufacturing hall for turbine disks,” explained COO Dr Silke Maurer during the opening ceremony, which included around 150 guests. Among other things, the hall will be manufacturing low-pressure turbine disks for Geared Turbofan engines – currently 6,000 units a year, but in ten years the team hopes to reach the 12,000-unit mark. “Our work here is fully automated, and we are networking the lathes and milling machines in a unique way,” explained Munich’s head of production Stefan Hertling. And that’s not all: the new building also houses a state-of-the-art disk testing area, the innovative ERCoat coating process – developed by MTU – and ultramodern office spaces with around 100 workstations and two rooftop terraces on the upper levels. #WeAreEngineExperts #ProductionHall #TurbineDisk #Manufacturing
