    Porsche Driver Experience with new design and new function With the electrification of the Macan, #Porsche has introduced a completely new display and control system into its successful SUV model. The Porsche Driver Experience offers a mix of digital and analogue elements. These include an instrument cluster with a 12.6-inch curved display, a 10.9-inch passenger display, a head-up display with augmented reality technology, and ambient lighting with a communication light. Porsche has once again completely upgraded the design of the screens for all Macan models. It now comprises an emotional welcoming animation, an updated state-of-the-art look, and the new Themes app which can be used to adjust the background colour of the displays and the ambient lighting to match the exterior colour, with twelve colours to choose from.     And the Formula E World Champion is driving #Porsche again On 21 July in London, Pascal Wehrlein won the second major title for the highly efficient Porsche 99X Electric. The German succeeds British driver Jake Dennis from the Andretti customer team, who achieved the feat in the same car in 2023, as champion. New records in Formula E mark the high point for Porsche in formula racing for the time being – 40 years after the TAG Turbo engine designed by Porsche became the benchmark in Formula 1.     Maximum performance also means attention to detail. A road trip with the new #Porsche Taycan from Zurich to the Formula E finale in London proves this right from the start. A summer rain shower sweeps across the motorway. Before the windscreen wiper even starts working, the droplets on the entire surface of the windscreen streak straight upwards. This is an indication of countless hours of meticulous engineering: the aerodynamics of the electric sedan have been maximised. The airflow clings cleanly to the body, creating no turbulence. This is also evidenced by the impressive silence that ensues once we have left the rain clouds behind. Wind noise? Almost non-existent. What does this bring? Reduced air resistance, lower consumption and thus more range.     Batteries are crucial components of electric vehicles—not least because they significantly influence the residual value. OEMs and suppliers are therefore keen to understand the details of how battery cells and systems age and the impact that driving behavior / handling have on their service life. For this purpose, Porsche Engineering is developing a digital twin of a high-voltage battery. “We need to understand how the cells will behave in the field over the long term – without being able to draw on many years of experience, as is the case for the combustion engine,” explains Joachim Schaper, Senior Manager AI and Big Data at Porsche Engineering. The Battery Digital Twin is intended to provide a glimpse into the future: The digital representation of the battery operates exactly like the original and provides information on the expected aging process. It can also be used to improve the service life and performance of the battery. AI experts from Porsche Engineering in Germany and the Czech Republic are therefore working flat out on the Battery Digital Twin.     Want to find out more about the new #Porsche Macan - the entry model to the all-electric SUV world of Porsche? We have you covered: ➡️ It gets its energy from a high-voltage battery with a gross energy content of 100 kWh. ➡️ Propulsion is provided exclusively by the rear-axle motor that is used in the Macan 4, with a diameter of 210 millimetres, an active length of 200 mm and output of 250 kW (340 PS) ➡️ The electric motor has a 480-amp pulse inverter (PWR) in which the highly efficient semiconductor material silicon carbide (SiC) is used to provide higher efficiency. It significantly reduces switching losses in the PWR and enables higher switching frequencies. ➡️ In combination with Launch Control, the Macan produces up to 265 kW (360 PS) of overboost power, and the maximum torque is 563 Nm. ➡️ From a standing start, the car reaches the 100 km/h mark in 5.7 seconds and has a top speed of 220 km/h. ➡️ By forgoing all-wheel drive, the Macan is 110 kilograms lighter than the Macan 4 and therefore requires less electricity for propulsion. This results in a combined WLTP range of up to 641 km.     “The shape of the car is really classic, and that’s the charm of the 912,” says French photographer and creative, Vince Perraud, who’s owned his 1968 Porsche 912 for almost six years and performed countless fixes and mends on its exterior and interior. “It’s an early shape – the short wheelbase – and it’s got the smaller engine from the 356.” The Porsche 912 featured the body of the 911 but was paired with the same reliable and economical engine fitted in the 356 SC. It was a blend that allowed Porsche to offer a car that had the aesthetic appeal and handling prowess of a 911 while keeping costs lower, making the Porsche driving experience accessible to a broader range of customers.     Spatenstich für die neue Werkfeuerwache in Zuffenhausen Unsere Werkfeuerwehr Zuffenhausen ist an 365 Tagen rund um die Uhr im Einsatz, um für unsere Sicherheit am Standort zu sorgen. Mit durchschnittlich 1.000 Einsätzen pro Jahr, darunter zum Beispiel Brandalarme, Unfälle und Umweltschutzeinsätze, ist unsere Werkfeuerwehr ein unverzichtbarer Bestandteil der Porsche-Familie. Für den Ernstfall entscheidend ist, dass die Kolleginnen und Kollegen innerhalb von fünf Minuten am Einsatzort im Werksgelände eintreffen können. Mit dem heutigen Spatenstich haben wir den Grundstein für die neue Heimat unserer Werkfeuerwehr samt Leitstelle gesetzt. "Der neue Standort wurde strategisch so gewählt, dass wir diese Zeit auch in Zukunft einhalten können“, sagt Tilman Holbe, zweiter stellvertretender Werkfeuerwehrkommandant. Das Wichtigste in Kürze: ➡️ Die neue Wache zählt einen Fuhrpark aus acht unterschiedlichen Fahrzeugtypen, darunter drei vollelektrische Einsatzfahrzeuge sowie einer Bergeraupe für havarierte Fahrzeuge. ➡️ Die Räumlichkeiten bieten zusätzlich Platz für Werkstätten und Übungsflächen, wie unter anderem einen Übungsturm, auf dem die Rettung aus einem Hochregallager simuliert werden kann oder einer Grube, mit der die Einsatzkräfte die Tiefenrettung oder Rettung auf engstem Raum simulieren können. ➡️ Darüber hinaus besteht das neue Gebäude aus Schulungsräumen, einem Sport- und einem Gemeinschaftsraum sowie Ruheräume für die Mitarbeitenden im nächtlichen Bereitschaftsdienst.
