That’s why Porsche Digital was founded in 2016 as the technology and digital unit of Porsche AG. Our primary mission is to discover and scale new digital business models, as well as to optimize existing products. To do so, we’re creating technologically advanced industry solutions while expanding the digital ecosystem through collaboration with promising start-ups. These are located in Ludwigsburg, Berlin, Tel Aviv, Shanghai, Beijing, Barcelona, Zagreb, Atlanta, Palo Alto in Silicon Valley and Guadalajara.

With the student-led Chargify project, our experts are currently exploring ways to reduce the carbon footprint of EV charging. In collaboration with the department of Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent System at the Hasso Plattner Institute, we’re developing and deploying machine learning algorithms that help users to charge their EVs more sustainably. As a first step, we focused on times during which only low emissions are required to produce the necessary electricity.   Our AI-powered algorithms draw on data such as energy generation, historical weather conditions and user travel distance, and consider the CO2 emissions factors of the different energy sources. Based on this data, the algorithms can predict the available energy mix in the grid and calculate optimal charging windows in periods with high renewable energy generation.   The Chargify project is another excellent example of how we’re using AI to improve the user experience and contribute to a sustainable future. Not only that, but it’s also another fantastic project to come from our Digital Campus network, which brings together excellence from academia, industry and associations to promote innovation and learning. At Porsche Digital, it’s our mission to create exciting products and services that enrich the digital lives of our customers. For our experts in Palo Alto and Atlanta, that means developing advanced digital solutions for the North American market.   But of course, as part of the technology and digital unit of Porsche AG, it’s also important for the teams at Porsche Digital US to have a strong understanding of our parent company. To test their knowledge, our colleagues recently took part in an exciting Porsche trivia competition!   With questions ranging from iconic Porsche models to racing history, the contest was designed as a fun way to deepen the appreciation of Porsche’s rich heritage and innovation. Not only that, but it also provided a great environment for team bonding among our US colleagues, with the chance to learn, connect and have fun together!

At Porsche Digital, we value the close collaboration between our offices in seven countries worldwide – not only from a business perspective, but also in an interpersonal way at internal events like the Digital Pit Stop.   Recently, a Digital Pit Stop evolved to cover the topic of agile working methods. Coordinated by Aisha Gazyakan, the event brought together colleagues from four Porsche Digital entities to share their insights.   💡 Rene Curth from Porsche Digital Barcelona highlighted the importance of considering the perspectives of others, through which agile transformation can become a key to success. 👫 Chang Ma from Porsche Digital China gave a glimpse into the benefits of agility in the People & Culture department and emphasized that agility is a cultural transformation. 🎯 Vedran Dunkić from Porsche Digital Croatia outlined the causes of inefficiency and offered best practices on how to increase focus and improve ways of working. 🤝 To round off the event, Kim Stieber from our Ludwigsburg office shared a selection of trends and examples of agility. He highlighted the importance of interaction between teams in an agile organization, as well as the need to break down silos.   The speakers left the audience with a lot of valuable insights and food for thought from their work, as well as great practical tips to put agility into action!

Over the past months, our tech experts have enjoyed supporting students at the Hochschule Heilbronn - Hochschule für Technik, Wirtschaft und Informatik on their course with Prof. Dr. Mahsa F. During the semester, the students worked in small groups to develop an app based on generative AI and open source large language models (LLMs). They began with a design thinking process and, after three months of hard work, finished with the implementation of a minimum viable product (MVP). Our colleagues Alice Chan and Timon Höfer mentored the students throughout the semester and attended the final presentation, where they discussed the solutions with the students. In addition, Alice spoke about Porsche Digital as a company, Lara Raisch shared insights into our innovation portfolio with a presentation on NFTs, and Ferdinand Henssler gave the students a tour of our office, where they had the chance to learn about new work.
