From kickoff to launch in 18 months: We’re thrilled to announce a groundbreaking partnership with Marble Imaging aimed at deploying #Europe's leading satellite constellation for Earth observation. Reflex will provide a high-performance satellite platform that meets the mission's rigorous pointing and stability requirements, enabling the precise capture of very high-resolution (VHR) EO images. This configuration forms a baseline from which we will show our capability to meet the next wave of high-resolution EO applications, including further VHR optical missions, LiDAR, as well as optical space-to-ground and intersatellite communications. Our ambition is clear: We're enabling lightning-fast innovation in space. The mission involves the development of the first satellite of a planned constellation. The goal is to provide real-time insights into pressing global challenges to empower decision-making like never before. Funding is provided via the Deutsche Raumfahrtagentur im DLR. The main payload is provided by optical instrument specialist Scanway. IABG is contributing a one-of-its-kind onboard computing cluster customized for autonomous and AI/ML applications. #NextSpace #SmallSatellites #EarthObservation #MadeIinGermany Walter Ballheimer Alexander Epp Robert Hook Dr. Gopika Suresh (PhD) Dennis Moore Alexander Genzel Daniel Kliche

#SIGI continues to draw the crowds. Earlier this week, Dr. Severin Fischer, State Secretary in the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises (Senatsverwaltung für Wirtschaft, Energie und Betriebe) toured our office to learn more about our groundbreaking first mission and our roots in the Berlin #DeepTech scene. Accompanied by members of Berlin Partner für Wirtschaft und Technologie GmbH, Dr. Fischer was treated to an in-depth tour of our facilities in which our high-performance #NextSpace satellites come to life. He saw firsthand how #SIGI has proven our ability to rapidly deliver tailor-made platforms capable of meeting the most rigorous performance standards. We took the opportunity to showcase our ESAF project (satellite structure creation via generative design), which was funded through #AMBER – Additive Manufacturing Berlin Brandenburg. Our breakthrough in creating star trackers that measure and account for thermal deformation improves precision and enables design flexibility for future missions. We are proud to already be contributing to the future of #spacetech right here in Berlin. #MadeInGermany #BerlinTech Walter Ballheimer Dennis Moore

#SIGI, our first satellite, has demonstrated our capability to rapidly create high-performance satellite platforms. We are proud to be the fastest and most cost-efficient company to have achieved flight readiness for its first ESPA-Class satellite; this achievement is drawing attention from the wider circle of German policymakers. Last week we were honored to host Anna Christmann, the Federal Government Coordinator of German Aerospace Policy, at our office in Berlin. SIGI took center stage, earning a signature and a message of support from Anna Christmann herself. We highlighted the unmatched blend of speed, performance, and flexibility that we achieve with our #NextSpace platforms. After the laboratory tour, we held in-depth discussions on the burning topics of European spaceflight: #NewSpace is gaining momentum in Europe, there are huge opportunities (such as #IRIS2), but there also are huge challenges. It was good to discuss our position and to make clear that we are well-prepared for what will come next. A special thanks to Anna Christmann for meeting with our team (Walter Ballheimer, Alexander Genzel, Dennis Moore) and engaging deeply with our vision of the future. #NextSpace #RoadToSIGI Stefan Kaschube

T-minus 75!... was what we were going to say today. Instead, with SpaceX’s #Falcon9 inflight failure last week, we’ve been given notice that our launch will be slightly delayed. From our side, this doesn’t change the fact that we consider our position today an enormous success. We designed, manufactured, assembled, and qualified our first satellite in an extraordinarily short amount of time; accommodating some notably exotic requirements in a high-performance satellite mission. This was enabled by cutting-edge in-house-developed components but also by an incredibly talented and experienced team of engineers, a team we were able to scale to 55 people. And we’ve achieved all this just three years after our company’s founding. Our engineers are eagerly awaiting confirmation of a new launch date so we can send SIGI to the US, where we’ll begin the final stages before launch. We have full faith in SpaceX's ability to get the Falcon 9 up and running again soon. Until then, we’ll keep working on our upcoming satellite missions and continue our R&D projects. This moment exemplifies why we need to support a robust launch ecosystem here at home! #RoadToSIGI #NextSpace #MadeInGermany

Good news everyone: We've successfully connected our SIGI spacecraft systems to the KSAT ground station modem! ✅ Established a solid radio link across S-band & X-band frequencies for all flight configs. ✅ Tested the limits by adding noise to ensure durable comms even in challenging conditions. ✅ End-to-end tested with our Mission Control Software EASE-Rise thanks to our preferred partner Telespazio Germany. Many thanks to KSAT – Kongsberg Satellite Services for enabling us to talk to our satellite in orbit. #SpaceTech #SIGI

Envision a secure Europe based on advanced #spacetech. Yesterday our CEO Walter Ballheimer sat alongside industry experts exploring the forefront of space sustainability, secure connectivity, and EU space law in the panel: "Space for a Securean Europe: From IRIS2 to Quantum Encryption and Beyond." We're at a decisive moment. Europe must support space innovation and focus on efficiency to create a secure future. #EUSpaceForum #NewSpace #NextSpace Forum Europe Christophe Grudler MEP Jeremie G. Koen Willems Enrique Fraga Jeremy Wilks
It was great to get the opportunity to speak on the #EUSpaceForum. On the panel with the quite broad title "Space for a Secure Europe: From IRIS² to Quantum Encryption and Beyond" I could share my view on how Europe should do more with less. Let's face it, Europe would like to have a #champagne lifestyle, in terms of space programs, but unfortunately just has a #beer wallet. Efficiency and innovation must be at the core of every new undertaking. Otherwise we will end up with outdated systems at the very moment of their introduction. #IRIS2 could be a giant chance for us in Europe to step up and to play our hand right. We have the world’s best talent, we have resources, and we are facing challenges. These are the three main elements for technological progress. Europe must become THE place for founders and entrepreneurs, for inventors, investors and creators. If we do everything right now, the European space ecosystem could rival that of the US in just a couple of years.
