Throwback Thursday for our 75th anniversary 🎉! Today we take a look back at our beginnings in the automotive industry in 1978. At the time, we were real pioneers and produced the first bumper for the VW Passat. This quickly became a cornerstone of our success story and marked the beginning of continuous further development in the REHAU Automotive division. For decades, we at REHAU have been supporting the people of Ukraine through active partnership and determined commitment. We are therefore particularly proud to have been invited to the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024 (URC2024). An international team led by the CEO of our Window Solutions division Carsten Heuer was in Berlin. The aim of URC2024 is to mobilize international support for the recovery, reconstruction, reforms and modernization of Ukraine 🌍🤝. Under the motto "United in defense. United in recovery. Stronger together.", the conference brings together leaders from politics and administration, business and finance as well as organizations and civil society. REHAU is involved in Ukraine with various divisions and acts as an all-in-one partner that can offer integrated infrastructure and construction solutions from a single source 💪. Our commitment ranges from supporting public facilities such as schools and hospitals to comprehensive social initiatives since the beginning of the Russian war of aggression in 2022 💪. On the contrary: the new MTS B3 office building in Krivá illustrates that high-quality architecture and innovative construction methods can go hand in hand 🤝🚀. 🔥 Various REHAU systems were used for the newly-built house at the entrance to the small Orava village of Krivá, contributing significantly to the quality and efficiency of the building. The underfloor heating with the Varionova knob-studded panel system and RAUTHERM-S pipes ensures an excellent heat distribution and increases the comfort. In addition, an industrial panel heating system was integrated, which is specially optimized for large halls and consequently ensures a constant heat distribution. ❄️ In addition to this, our innovative ceiling cooling system using the dry construction method not only contributes to cooling, but also integrates seamlessly into the modern design of the building. People have been our main focus for over 75 years 👥💪!    This year, we are celebrating our 75th anniversary and especially the people who represent our company and will continue to do so in the future. This is the reason why, on today's Throwback Thursday, we're taking a look back on the training as a plastics and rubber process mechanic with us 💡, because we have been training people at REHAU since the 1960s.   When plastic was still a new material, we were committed to establishing the profession of plastics and rubber process mechanic 🎓👨🔧. Thanks to our commitment, this profession was officially recognized in 1976 and is now known as a plastics and rubber technician 🚀, which we continue to provide training for at our numerous plant locations.   To this day, training young people is particularly close to our heart! The World Environment Day reminds us of the importance to protect our environment and promote sustainable solutions 🌍. We at REHAU Industries are proud to opt for renewable energy sources to generate electricity. With 65.4% of our electricity consumption coming from renewable energy sources in 2023, we are sending a clear message 🌞💡.  Photovoltaic systems with a total output of around 14,400 kWp, which are installed on our company premises, account for a large proportion 🌱 . This renewable electricity is supplemented by a 5-year contractually secured PPA (power purchase agreement) for wind power amounting to approx. 28,500 MWh/a. Proof of origin in accordance with the “EKOenergy” eco-label have been obtained for the remaining electricity volumes to prove that the electricity was procured from renewable energy sources. Diversity has many facets 🌈. It's about more than just gender. Age, professional experience, regional and social background - these are also dimensions of diversity 🌍. At REHAU, we use various methods to promote an inclusive working culture. One of these methods is mentoring 🤝. Carla Bork and Sabrina Colantoni have entered into the relationship as mentee and mentor and have both learned a lot from each other. Carla is new to our company and has been working in Learning and Development since 2023 📚. Sabrina has been with us for 20 years and is currently responsible for the brand. Our mentoring program promotes both professional and personal development.
