Transaction closed: SEFE Securing Energy for Europe GmbH acquires WIGA Transport Beteiligungs-GmbH & Co. KG stake from Wintershall Dea #SEFE has achieved a significant milestone with the European Commission’s approval of its full acquisition of WIGA Transport Beteiligungs-GmbH & Co. KG. SEFE is now taking over as the sole #shareholder. Key facts on this milestone: 🔹 This is a major step in SEFE’s #growthstrategy and commitment to providing competitive transportation services. 🔹 With its high-performance infrastructure, SEFE will be able to support the future transport of climate-neutral gases such as #hydrogen. 🔹 The transaction strengthens SEFE’s asset base, ensuring financial #stability for long-term development. WIGA Transport Beteiligungs-GmbH & Co. KG owns the gas network operators GASCADE Gastransport GmbH and NEL Gastransport GmbH. Together, they employ more than 500 people and operate networks with a combined length of around 4,150 kilometres in Germany. #RECAP ARENDALSUKA 2024 This week, we had the pleasure of participating in ARENDALSUKA 2024 in Arendal, #Norway. This yearly political gathering features a wide range of interesting and educational exhibitions and events that engage with Norwegian #politics and #public discourse throughout the city. This year’s event took place under the leading topic "Towards 2050: The Future of German-Norwegian Energy Cooperation," organised by KonKraft, Norsk Hydro and the AHK Norwegen / Deutsch-Norwegische Handelskammer. The event was opened by State Secretary Astrid Bergmål and Christian Maaß from the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz and brought together #German and #Norwegian stakeholders to discuss the future of bilateral cooperation in the #energysector, focusing on Norway’s crucial role in shaping Europe’s #energy landscape.   Our EVP Hydrogen & Renewables, Dr. Hans Dieter Hermes was among the distinguished speakers who explored the evolving energy partnership between #Norway and #Germany and emphasised the need to align Europe’s industrial #energydemands with the green #energytransition and our contribution to making the required amounts of #hydrogen available in order to achieve the #climatetargets:    “SEFE plays a central role within the European energy transition. 🌟 Charity starts at home 🌟   Last week our colleagues from our Business Operations & Transformation team in #London volunteered for two amazing causes: Euston Foodbank and Coram's Fields.   Euston Foodbank – helping local people in crisis: Euston Foodbank has been a crucial lifeline, ensuring no one goes hungry. Our colleagues from the Business Services team delivered #food worth a total of £2,000 to the charity. #SEFE has made an additional #financial donation of £2,000 to the charity to support our colleagues‘ dedication.   Coram's Fields – a haven for play: Coram's Fields is a cherished safe space for children. We’re proud to support them with a £5,000 donation towards their new #playtower to allow children the joy and sense of discovery. Seven female colleagues from #SEFE were on site to provide additional support with clearing alleyways filled with debris and leaves followed by the challenge of building a compost enclosure for the rubbish.   “This was a great activity for us. We all felt to contribute to a meaningful cause in our community and at the same time strengthened our bond as a team.
