In today's #ResearcherFriday post we would like to introduce Lukáš Koranda from AgentFly Technologies. Lukáš Koranda is a team leader of the Air Traffic Management simulation operations at AgentFly Technologies. He has been involved in the #fca topic since the first Flight Centric ATC solution within SESAR2020 and was responsible for the integration of the concept into the AgentFly Technologies simulation platform. As part of PJ.10-W2-73 FCA, he was leading the fast-time simulations of an ECAC-wide Flight Centric ATC aispace. 🌟 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗻 ENAIRE 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗲! 🌟 We’re thrilled to share the progress of our Spanish exercise validation (ENAIRE, CRIDA A.I.E., INECO & Indra) and the development of our tools: ✈️ 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: We've made significant advances in identifying airstreams within Madrid ACC, allowing us to segregate 20-40% of traffic into these streams. This supports the permanent implementation of the FCA operating mode above FL365. 🛠️ 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘀: We've analyzed one month of traffic data and identified optimal configuration plans for both ATC sectors (reference) and FCA control (solution). Candidate time slots have been selected to model conflict resolution, weather phenomena, position management, and to analyze the expected benefits in terms of cost efficiency. 💻 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Accelerated time executions are currently underway to ensure high-fidelity simulations. 📊 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗠𝗜 & 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗹𝗴𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗺: We have refined and are currently developing both the complexity algorithm and the allocator HMI tool to enhance decision-making and performance. 🚀 Our first dry run is scheduled for 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰. Today we would like to introduce Dmytro Tereshchenko in our weekly #ResearcherFriday series. Dmytro Tkachenko is an air traffic controller and ATM expert at Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE). He became air traffic controller at Kyiv ACC back in 2002. Ten years later he took over the position of Unit Instructor with all the endorsements for Kyiv ACC and Kyiv TMA. Within the SESAR 3 FCA project he is involved as ATM expert and facilitator for the Ukrainian team in the joint Exercise001 of German Aerospace Center (DLR) and Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise. Preparation for #Exercise001 (German Aerospace Center (DLR) & Ukrainian State Air Traffic Service Enterprise) is progressing rapidly! At AgentFly Technologies, we support this effort with fast-time simulations (#fts) of conventional air traffic control. This will play an important role in assessing the benefits of a Flight Centric ATC approach in Ukrainian airspace. We’re developing multiple scenarios to be compared with human-in-the-loop simulations performed later this year. Today we are proud to introduce Mara Weber, the lead of Exercise 001, a combined real-time simulation of German Aerospace Center (DLR) and Ukrainian State Air Traffic Service Enterprise, which simulates the Ukrainian airspace above FL275 as a unified Flight Centric ATC airspace. In addition, Mara Weber is taking over the role of the Performance Assessment Lead within the SESAR 3 FCA project, based on her experience from the predecessor project SESAR2020 Project PJ.10-W2 PROSA (PJ.10-W2-73 FCA). Time goes on fast! As soon as the group of air traffic controllers returned from the HMI & Supervisor workshop, it is time to reinforce the UkSATSE team by involving more experts for the preps to the real-time simulation. As part of the Flight Centric ATC project, Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V. and Ukrainain State Air Traffic Services Enterprise are planning to carry out a real-time simulation for the upper Ukrainian airspace using the DLRs TrafficSim platform in November 2024.
