Carbon. It’s on everyone’s lips (literally, since we’re all made of it). There are lots of ways a business can reduce its carbon footprint but in recent years many corporate carbon offset schemes have proven to be ineffective or worse. Our focus has always been reducing emissions: the less we emit, the less the environment needs to offset. But how do we know if we’re hitting our targets - if we’re actually treading lighter? We partnered with Carbonfact to measure our carbon footprint on a granular level - leaving no shirt unturned. Accurately & transparently assessing our carbon footprint across our entire supply chain is a big accomplishment. For a fashion producer, the vast majority of our carbon footprint arises from Scope 3 emissions. And now for the big reveal. When we sum up everything we produced last year including everything required to maintain a business, the company’s total carbon footprint (the amount of CO2e we added to the atmosphere) is 19,959 tonnes CO2e. This includes emissions from all 3 Scopes: raw materials, processing, assembly, packaging, transportation, product use, end of life and corporate emissions. #armedangels #madetomakeadifference #carbonfootprint #actionreport

From a single tee and a naively idealistic dream in 2007, we’ve journeyed far. Now, with over 150 employees from 28 countries, whose energy and passion drove this company into existence, we are continuing to manifest the belief that everyone can change the world. In 2023, the world saw its hottest year ever, with temperatures 2.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. In the midst of polar ice melting, forest fires and rising emissions, the climate crisis is undeniable. In response, we need to change the system, taking bold steps to transform the garment and fashion industry from within. We achieved several milestones in 2023: doubling our use of recycled materials, finally transitioning 500 farmers from the Organic Cotton Farmers Association in India from conventional to organic cotton, reducing our product's average carbon footprint to 9.08 kg CO2e, collaborating with AI expert paretos to combat overproduction, and maintaining our Fair Wear Foundation leader status.
