We are excited to announce that we have invested in Lava Foundation's token sale! 🚀 tokentus investment AG has invested 150,000 USD in this 11 million USD private token round. The token round follows a $15 million equity seed round in 2023.   Lava Network positions itself as a decentralized physical infrastructure (DePIN) and democratizes the provision of data services for blockchains and projects. Lava is a modular network which rollups use to bootstrap a performant network of infrastructure providers. How stablecoins bridge the gap between the cryptocurrencies and fiat - The reason why they are becoming a leading topic 📢 Despite their critical role in the cryptocurrency ecosystem, stablecoins often go unnoticed. Stablecoins are digital currencies whose value is pegged to traditional currencies like the United States dollar or the Euro. This stability offers a safe haven within the blockchain ecosystem, especially during periods of high volatility. Why Stability Matters Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum are renowned for their price fluctuations, which can be a significant barrier to their use as everyday currency. Stablecoins were conceived to bridge the gap between the volatile crypto environment and the more stable fiat currencies, thereby providing a medium of exchange that remains consistent in value. Stablecoins come in different forms, each with its unique approach to achieving price stability: Fiat-Collateralized Stablecoins These are the simplest form of stablecoins. For every coin in circulation, there is a corresponding reserve of a fiat currency like the U.S. dollar held by the issuer. This direct backing helps maintain the coin's value. Popular examples include Tether (USDT) and USD Coin (USDC). Recently, Ripple announced plans to launch its own USD-backed stablecoin, aiming to contribute to the liquidity and stability of the cryptocurrency market. Crypto-Collateralized Stablecoins This category of stablecoins uses other cryptocurrencies as collateral. Due to the inherent volatility of their collateral, these stablecoins are often over-collateralized to account for market fluctuations. A well-known example is MakerDAO’s DAI, which is backed by Ether reserves. Algorithmic Stablecoins Unlike their collateralized counterparts, algorithmic stablecoins do not use physical reserves but instead rely on a working algorithm that adjusts the supply of the stablecoin to stabilize its price. TerraUSD is a notable example of this type, which faced a dramatic collapse in 2022, erasing billions of dollars in value and highlighting the risks associated with this model.   Importance of the role of Stablecoins: Stablecoins are set to become a dominant force in the cryptocurrency market over the next five years. According to a report from Bernstein, a leading private wealth management firm, it is anticipated that about 2% of the global money supply will be tokenized through stablecoins and central bank digital currencies by 2028. This trend suggests a potential stablecoin market valuation of approximately $2.8 trillion by the end of the period, highlighting the significant role expected for stablecoins.
