It was an honor to host the management team and board of the BioInnovation Institute, the renowned #Sciencepreneurship unit in the Novo Nordisk Foundation Ecosystem, in a two day visit of the Munich TUM Venture Labs Sciencepreneurship Ecosystem The delegation included CEO Jens Nielsen and his team, as well as their distinguished board, headed by Chair Marianne Philip and Vice-Chair Robert Urban, and including the CEO of the Novo Nordisk Foundation, Mads Krogsgaard Thomsen. Philipp Gerbert, CEO of the TUM Venture Labs, jointly with Helmut Schoenenberger, CEO of UnternehmerTUM, hosted the exchange, including: 🚀 The Munich Urban Colab, the focal point of the collaborative Munich Innovation ecosystem around Research Institutes, Start-ups, Corporations and Government initiatives from local to European level. 🚀 The powerhouse #MaxPlanckInstituteForQuantumOptics, presented by its director Immanuel Bloch, and the lighthouse Munich Quantum Valley, presented by its coordinators Rudolf Gross and Christopher Trummer from the TUM Venture Lab Quantum. As start-ups, flagship planqc, Peak Quantum and MQI - Munich Quantum Instruments presented. 🚀 At the TUM Center for Protein Assembly, Director Stephan Sieber welcomed the delegation. As a guest of honor, Judith Gerlach, Bavarian Minster for Health, Care and Prevention, highlighted the strong support of Science and Entrepreneurship in Healthcare and beyond in Bavaria, and expressed her strong support for a closer collaboration with Denmark . Also, Jens Nielsen took the stage to reemphasize his enthusiasm of shaping a closer collaboration between U|TUM Venture Labs in Bavaria and the BioInnovation Institute in Denmark. As a special treat, #AngelaCasini introduced the brand-new #SmartDrugsatTUM initiative, followed by renowned researchers #WolfgangWeber (Nuclear Medicine), Matthias Hebrok (Stem cells & organoid systems) and Andreas Bausch (cell biophysics). They were followed by another impressive line-up of TUM Venture Labs start-ups: CPTx, ingineeon, QTAS - Quantum Total Analysis Systems, smartbax and RYVER.AI. 🚀 After lunch at Bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan (founded in the year 725), Roman Werner, Managing Director of the TUM Venture Lab Food/Agro/Biotech, gave a tour of the Campus and the #FACIT core facility, as well as of the wide variety of critical global challenges in Food, Agro and Biology addressed by the researchers and scalable start-ups. A selection of them then presented: Global Sustainable Transformation GST , Koralo, Alganize and Prevo. As always, it was particularly inspiring to see many young students and scientists join the discussions with their own ideas that they intend to scale via entrepreneurial initiatives in order to create impact in our world! We hope, everyone enjoyed the intense two-way interaction and we are looking forward to formally intensifying the collaboration within the coming months.
