Economic Benefits of Migrating to Cloud Services In our last post, we explored the critical role of change management in ensuring smooth software migration. Today, we're diving into the economic side of migrating to cloud services. Our Idea is that at Vilosia, transitioning to the cloud becomes a seamless “byproduct” of our workflow. By transitioning and visualizing the workflows of the legacy systems one by one into our infrastructure we automatically move them into the cloud. We don´t want to ruin the surprise so more on that later on… First we want to clarify how this move can significantly boost revenue: 1. Significant Cost Savings Migrating to the cloud can lead to substantial savings on infrastructure costs. Companies can save between 15-40% on infrastructure expenses alone by moving to the cloud. This is largely due to the shift from capital expenditure to operational expenditure, where you only pay for the resources you use. 2. Enhanced Scalability and Flexibility Cloud services allow you to scale your resources up or down based on demand, ensuring you only pay for what you need. This flexibility supports your workforce with a more accessible and interconnected work environment, making it easier to handle fluctuating workloads without unnecessary costs. 3. Freeing up time for IT - teams With cloud migration, the need for a large in-house IT team to manage and maintain hardware diminishes. This reduction in maintenance leads to significant time savings. We count on freeing up your team to focus on innovation instead of maintenance! 4. Increased Efficiency Cloud services enhance operational efficiency by the possibility of automating routine tasks and reduced downtime. This leads to faster time-to-market for your ideas. 5. Improved Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity The cloud offers robust disaster recovery solutions that can be more cost-effective than traditional methods. This ensures business continuity and minimizes revenue loss during unexpected disruptions. At Vilosia, we understand these benefits deeply. Our platform makes migration easier by giving you a comprehensive view of your current systems, showing how features and functions are connected. This helps in planning and executing migrations more efficiently, reducing complexity and cost. By providing a clear picture of your codebase and ultimately running digital twins, we ensure a smooth transition without disrupting daily operations. https://lnkd.in/esRhuxNA #buildinginpublic

The Role of AI in Software Migration Artificial Intelligence is making waves in nearly every field. Same so in software migration by taking over complex analysis tasks, reducing human effort and thereby errors. What we saw out there: Finding people who can understand ancient code can be like hunting for a unicorn. The original developers might be retired or sipping cocktails on a beach somewhere. So, how do you chart the path for migration without losing track of dependencies and those sneaky features nobody remembers? How do you define the migration roadmap, domain boundaries and make sure you don’t miss any critical dependencies? Here’s where AI really shows off its superpowers. It outperforms humans in analyzing legacy code. We are using that with a smart blend of custom code and clever prompting in our methodology. And trust us, we’ve tried it—it’s faster and more accurate. At Vilosia, we harness AI to make migration smoother. Our platform dives deep into your existing systems, revealing how features and functions are interconnected. This helps in planning and executing migrations more efficiently, reducing complexity and cost. By providing a clear picture of your codebase and our plan to run digital twins in the future, we ensure a smooth transition without disrupting your daily operations. We are building a workflow to identify dependencies, and suggest optimizations, making the migration process easier and less time consuming. Embrace software migration to stay competitive and drive innovation. Stay tuned for more insights about the Journey of Vilosia! #buildinginpublic

Overcoming Challenges in Migrating Legacy Code Let's talk about common difficulties faced during legacy code migration and how to tackle them. Here's how we want to transform challenges into opportunities: Choose the Right Modernization Strategy: Before we can do anything we have to think about the right way. Build from scratch? re-platforming? refactoring? Alternatively not migrating at all…also a valid outcome. Selecting a strategy that aligns with our partners business objectives is a core value of Vilosia. Data Complexity and Integrity: Migrating data from legacy systems can be tricky due to complex and inconsistent data structures. Evaluate the current system’s capabilities, data flow, and integration points. Identify domain boundaries, dependencies and define transformation rules to ensure the workflows are clean and validated during migration. Identify potential risks and areas requiring modernization first. We don't want to move running systems without need. Knowledge Gaps and Expertise: Finding experts in outdated systems can be challenging, leading to potential delays and errors. Tip: Invest in knowledge transfer and training programs to equip your team with the necessary skills for the migration process. Disruption of Business Operations: Migrating legacy systems can disrupt daily operations, causing downtime and loss of productivity. Tip: Implement phased migration or parallel operations strategies to minimize disruption and ensure business continuity. Testing and Compliance: Rigorous testing is crucial to validate the new system’s functionality, performance, and compliance. Tip:: Conduct comprehensive testing throughout the migration process to ensure the new system meets all requirements. Change Management and User Adoption: Users may struggle to adapt to the new system, affecting the overall success of the migration. Tip:: Provide comprehensive training and support to ensure smooth user adoption. At Vilosia, we see these challenges. Our mission is to make them less scary and innovation easier by giving you a good look at your systems. Our platform shows how features and functions are connected, what calls what, and how everything works together. Our solution helps you plan and carry out migrations better, cutting down on how tricky and costly it can be. By providing a clear picture of your current code, we ensure you can switch over without disrupting your day-to-day work. Embrace software migration to stay competitive and drive innovation. Ready to overcome these challenges? Stay tuned for more insights into our minds and the Mission of Vilosia. #buildinginpublic

    - How I found an Error in my App even before it occurred - or - Exploring Enhanced Error Detection and Correction with 3D-Backend Visualization - We've been exploring the realm of our 3D-backend and the early results are promising! 💡 Our new approach doesn't just improve visual aesthetics but also significantly enhances error detection and correction processes. Traditionally, backend programming has been predominantly text focused. But by incorporating 3D elements, we're opening up a whole new dimension of possibilities. Imagine being able to visualize complex workflows in a dynamic 3D space! 🔄 There's a certain magic in this approach. In some cases its like an intuitive sixth sense for errors. Working with Vilosia, I find myself noticing discrepancies before they even materialize, like the absence of that familiar 3D element in the workflow. It's not just about programming anymore; it's about forging a deeper connection with the code. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and insights! 💬🔗 Want to see the latest Version of our platform? Find a short Video here: https://lnkd.in/e8QifYUV
