🌱 Learn, how we use sustainable materials for not just automotive designs, but production process - and how, by doing so, we reduce the negative impact on our environment. 👩🔬 Leather is a material that is frequently used. Find out how we have found a way to eliminate conventional methods in the production process and use coffee and olives instead. ☕ From bean to machine: Škoda Auto’s Czech plants switch to 100% Curiosity Fuel. Upon arrival in the Czech Republic, the coffee beans are processed at the Jablum family roastery in Bezděčín, Mladá Boleslav. The distribution of the coffee to the canteens, company cafés and coffee machines at the Czech plants has already begun. Starting this summer, Škoda Auto’s total annual coffee consumption at these locations – approximately 25 tonnes – will be covered by sustainable, high-quality Curiosity Fuel. Closing the loop: the story of Curiosity Fuel goes beyond coffee 💚In line with circular economy principles, Škoda Auto is also using the coffee bean husks. In collaboration with its supply partner Bader, the carmaker has developed a process in which this byproduct is used for tanning the leather seat covers of the Škoda Kodiaq and Octavia models in the Suite Design Selection from summer onwards. #innovation #sustainable #materials #mobility #curiosityfuel

👍 At Volkswagen Group, we prioritize sustainability, which is reflected in our 10-point plan. Another example of this commitment is the utilization of recycled PET bottles in new models from Volkswagen. 🚘 In the ID.Buzz, we take this a step further by incorporating Seaqual® yarn, made from marine debris and recycled materials, into the seat covers. This innovative approach not only reduces CO2 emissions but also contributes to cleaner oceans. ♻ Learn why and how PET and other recycled materials are used in the manufacturing of modern cars. #Sustainability #Innovation #VolkswagenGroup Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles

🌳💚 We place a high value on sustainability, which is why it is part of our 10-point plan. A key objective is to integrate sustainable, regrowing materials in our vehicles. 🤝 We already use hemp fibres in various interior components, and now, with the collaboration of Volkswagen and revoltech GmbH, an innovative hemp-based leather is being developed that could redefine car interiors. #Sustainability #Innovation #VolkswagenGroup #IndustrialHempLeather
