✨ Logistics can do magic! Check this example from our Spanish colleagues: Right now, they are building a PowerCo giga factory for #battery cells, just north of Valencia. Final assembly and integration into the cars will happen 300 km north-east, in #Martorell, close to Barcelona. 🚂 A daily train will be running up north, loaded with 400 overseas containers, carrying those cells. 🛥 CUPRA with a maritime move: by launching the “E23 Terramar”, our Spanish colleagues at CUPRA are celebrating the first result of their collaboration with DeAntonio Yachts. The all-electric boat connects both brands' commitment to design, #performance, and sustainability. Check out the facts: 🔹 The design is inspired by the CUPRA Terramar, the brand’s new electrified SUV. 🔹 The #yacht is 7.20 metres long and 2.23 metres wide. It carries up to eight people, including the skipper. 🔹 The integrated foils between the hulls provide additional lift by reducing friction when moving forward. This extends the range of the boat and enables a top speed of up to 30 knots. 💬 "At CUPRA we are always looking to push the limits, challenge the boundaries and redefine what's possible. Those principles and our racing DNA took us to partner with the America’s Cup, a competition with no second place that reinforces our commitment to innovation, design, and sportiness", said Wayne Griffiths, CEO of CUPRA.

📊 Our colleagues from "Brand Group Core" have released their first-half results. The five teams at Volkswagen, SEAT S.A. & CUPRA, Škoda Auto, and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles worked hard for stable sales revenues and a huge wave of products. ➡️ Despite these efforts, challenges remain, especially for the Volkswagen brand: ▪️ Fixed costs increased due to a comprehensive product offensive, higher personnel expenses, and factory costs from part shortages. Slightly better sales and revenues couldn’t fully offset these. ▪️ Operating profit stood at €3.5 billion, a decline of 8.2% from last year. Return on sales fell to 5.0%. ▪️ Special items, particularly at VW, affected these results. Without them, the operating margin would have been 6.0%. 💪 Stronger together: two brands of the Volkswagen Group are pushing an innovative project. MAN Energy Solutions provides a heat pump with a maximum output of 25 MW to Scout Motors Inc. for their new production facility for all-electric vehicles in South Carolina, USA. 🏭 This major venture is part of our multi-billion investment in the American company, which is producing the next generation of fully #electric pickup trucks and sport-utility vehicles (SUVs), echoing the #iconic Scout vehicles built from the 1960s to 1980. 💬 Gunnar Kilian, Member of the Board of Volkswagen Group and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of MAN Energy Solutions, stated: "The cooperation between MAN Energy Solutions and Scout Motors underscores the Volkswagen Group’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality at all production sites worldwide by 2040." The 2024 “World Ducati Week” peaked last weekend on the Italian Adriatic shore with some magic numbers: 🏍 240 official Ducati Clubs present 🏍 Record attendance: 94,000 guests from 86 nations 🏍 40 world titles of legendary and current #motorcycle champions The twelfth edition of the biggest Ducati Motor Holding event in the world was made unique by many activities and opportunities, e.g. meet-and-greets and autograph sessions with #Ducati riders, hot laps and test drives in cars by Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A., and performances of stuntmen. Nevertheless, “WDW2024” is also a show that unites the past, present, and future. ❤ We hope, you liked it! Last weekend our colleagues of Volkswagen brand hosted more than 15,000 guests for the #GTI Fanfest in Wolfsburg. Right next to the main plant, there were #Golf, #Polo, and #Scirocco all over. In red, white, and black, of course! 💬 “I’m particularly pleased that we're holding the first edition of this gathering here in Wolfsburg, exactly 50 years after the first Golf rolled off the assembly line at this very location. Today has once again impressively demonstrated to me, that the three letters GTI are a legend in the automotive world.” says Thomas Schäfer, CEO of Volkswagen brand. 🚗 To finish it all up, yesterday 200 participants got the chance to cruise the very grounds of the factory. 🏆 Congratulations to Porsche factory driver Pascal #Wehrlein for winning the Formula E World Championship! Thanks to a brilliant #team effort at the final race in London, the German reached the flag in second place – earning enough points to defend his lead in the World Championship. He had only reclaimed it the previous day. 🏁 In the teams’ classification, the Porsche AG works outfit took vice-championship honours. With seven wins in one season, the Weissach team set a record. Combined with customer team Andretti Formula E’s win, half (eight) of all victories this year went to the Porsche 99X Electric – more than any other car in the field! Pascal Wehrlein joined forces with Porsche in 2020 to contest the Formula E World Championship and is the first German single-seater World Champion since Nico Rosberg became Formula 1 Champion in 2016.
