Hanseatic Consulting is among the largest Junior Enterprises in Germany, delivering around 40 management consulting projects with around 100 student consultants per year during my time. Hanseatic Consulting is organised as a non-profit with the mission to support students through management consulting opportunities.

In addition to being an active consultant and project manager I was the executive board member responsible for the client and projects side of the business during 2008.
Among my areas of responsibility were new business acquisition, client relations, selection and education of senior project managers and strategic business development. -

CEOs’ search for alignment: the impact of strategic orientations on an extended adoption of Software-as-a-Service in SMEs

As a recent technological innovation of great relevance to SMEs, this study focuses on the adoption of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). We develop an extended SaaS adoption model that includes strategic orientations as antecedents of the key adoption drivers. As a recent technological innovation of great relevance to SMEs, this study focuses on the adoption of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). We develop an extended SaaS adoption model that includes strategic orientations as antecedents of the key adoption drivers. Drawing on arguments from strategic IT alignment, we propose that CEOs’ extended SaaS adoption intention is determined by how much the perceived beliefs about SaaS fit the implemented strategic orientation. Our rationale is that CEOs play the dominant role in establishing alignment in SMEs as they make decisions about strategy and IT. We provide first evidence on the influence of CEOs’ strategic orientations on extended SaaS adoption.

Made in India for the World: An Empirical Investigation into Novelty and Nature of Innovations

After an initial introduction into the areas of innovations within emerging markets, the study develops a consistent innovation typology for categorizing large data samples from a variety of existing literature. It then describes and finally evaluates a sample of 178 innovations for the Indian market based on 38 different criteria. It uses internet-based news reports over a 2 year timeframe for the study sample.

It then describes and finally evaluates a sample of 178 innovations for the Indian market based on 38 different criteria. It uses internet-based news reports over a 2 year timeframe for the study sample.
The study’s results show a considerable amount of radical innovations and innovations with disruptive potential among the sample and a special concentration on small- and micro-sized innovators from India. It confirms previous suggestions that India is especially focused on innovations within the software and electronics engineering sectors. The results also support the importance of local knowledge and ‘social capital’ for successful disruptive innovation. Finally, a perceivable increase in the technology orientation of innovations by foreign companies suggests a continuous build-up of local technology-competence and foreign trust in the same.
A focus on local competencies and the leading position of India concerning innovative distribution are among the managerial implication of the study.
