Computer Vision Engineering Internship (m/w/d)

We are the Innovation Lab of Grimme Group, the market leader for potato and vegetable farming equipment. We are located in the beautiful and international City of Düsseldorf, Germany. Our core focus is building a harvesting robot for root crops (farmlab.one), as well as supporting our mother company, Grimme (grimme.com), on its journey towards offering more digital services and solutions. Our international team loves the MERN stack and test-driven development.

We offer a dev culture with tech demos, education days, conference visits, talks, and foremost, we work with the latest frameworks and libraries in the field of web and app development such as React, Next, Nest and Flutter. We use state-of-the-art deployment tooling like Docker, Terraform for IaC and CI/CD strategies.

We are looking for you to join us as part of an On-Site 6 month Internship in Robotics for our office in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Your Profile:

• Working Knowledge of C++, Python, OpenCV, Tensorflow, camera calibration and image preprocessing techniques
• Hardware and GPU experience with Jetson Boards, TensorRT and Integration Pipelines
• Background in Computer Science, Math, Physics or Engineering
• Linear and Matrix Algebra make you cheer and you’ve built your own custom neural network before (beyond retraining)
• Experience with different camera systems and eventually NIR cameras is a plus

Your Role:

• Support the robotic harvester and optical sorting team by upgrading our existing vision systems
• Lead your own sub-projects and coordinate with our colleagues
