Tasks & Responsibilities
- As a Global Scientific Relations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the external collaborations for therapeutic area (TA) CRM. Your primary task will be to establish and nurture a robust network of Key External Experts and relevant societies
- Working hand in hand with TA CRM colleagues, including those in Medical Affairs and asset teams, you will craft and bring to life an integrated engagement plan. This plan will encompass both in-line and pipeline products, ensuring alignment with the defined medical objectives, franchise objectives, and communication strategy
- Your role will also involve orchestrating various Key External Engagement activities. These activities range from symposia to advisory boards to expert meetings, with a keen focus on evaluating their success and driving continuous improvement
- One of your key responsibilities will be to forge and manage enduring partnerships and collaborations with scientific societies and academic organizations. These partnerships will span across research, education, and implementation projects, creating a holistic approach to scientific collaboration
- Ensuring the success and compliance of external engagements will fall under your purview. This includes applying the EPIC tool, adhering to contracting and compliance guidelines, and fulfilling reporting requirements
- Lastly, you will coordinate the identification and invitation of cross-border speakers, providing invaluable support to colleagues in Regional Operating Unit (ROPU)/ Operating Unit (OPU).
- As the Senior Global Scientific Relations Manager, you play a proactive role in designing and implementing the stakeholder engagement strategy. You leverage your understanding of the external landscape, therapeutic area, brand strategy, and medical objectives to do so
- You independently lead and take full responsibility for delivering the integrated activity plan for assigned compounds or strategic TA projects. This includes key partnerships with scientific societies
- Furthermore, you contribute to the strategic vision and direction of the scientific relations function within the TA CRM. You foster collaboration across the TA and relevant company projects related to external stakeholder management
- A distinguished academic background in Natural/Life Sciences or Business Administration, with a preference for PhD or MD qualifications
- Proven track record in the pharmaceutical sector, showcasing adeptness in engaging with external stakeholders and strategizing effectively
- A solid foundation in medical and scientific understanding, demonstrating the ability to comprehend and apply complex concepts
- Demonstrable proficiency in Compliance, GCP, Communications, Training, and Presentation, underlining a commitment to continuous learning and development
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, highlighting the ability to navigate complex situations with ease
- Willingness to embrace the opportunity of regular travel, showcasing adaptability and a global mindset
- Mastery of the English language, ensuring effective communication in a global setting
- Extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a particular focus on the therapeutic area of cardiovascular-renal-metabolism
- A strong background in the international pharmaceutical industry, showcasing expertise in international stakeholder relations and medical education
- Proven leadership experience in spearheading high-priority projects in collaboration with external partners, global matrix teams, and regional/local BI counterparts
- Outstanding networking and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to thrive in virtual teams
- Excellent credibility and project management skills, demonstrating the ability to deliver results consistently
