Winter:
Die Frischluft strömt bei geschlossenen Lamellen
und abgeschalteter Abluftanlage in den Zwischen-
raum. Die sich erwärmende stehende Luftschicht
7 7
bildet einen Wärmepuffer zu den Räumen hin.
Gelüftet wird primär über dezentrale Lüftungsgeräte
mit einem Wirkungsgrad von 84%. Dabei wird die
kalte Zuluft über Rotationswärmetauscher vorgewärmt 7 7
und über Brüstungskanäle in die Hörsäle einge-
bracht. Die warme Abluft wird über die Trennwände
4 3 4
Summer
Fresh air flows into the facade intermediate space at the 7 7
base. The ventilation louvres are open. A mechanical air-
extract plant at the top of the facade intermediate space 6 6
supports the natural stack effect. The air-extract plant is
of simple construction and was more economical than
other measures, such as the installation of additional
mechanically operated ventilation flaps in the outer layer
2 3 3
of glazing. Ventilation of the rooms occurs via windows 2
and louvres that open on to the external realm.
Winter 1 1
Fresh air flows into the facade intermediate space when
the louvres are closed and the air-extract plant is turned 7 7
off. The enclosed layer of air is heated up and forms a
thermal buffer on the outside of the rooms. Ventilation is 6 6
effected primarily via decentralized appliances with an
84 per cent efficiency. The cool air intake is preheated 9 9
by passing it over the rotary heat-exchange unit and
over ducts in the apron walls of the lecture halls. The
warm exhaust air is sucked out via the partitions and re-
turned to the ventilation plant. The location of the appli-
ances directly in the facade obviates the need for elabo- 4 4
rate fire-safety flaps and ducts that are subject to soil- 5 5
ing. Any additional heating needs are met by radiators in 8 8
the apron walls. The radiators, which prevent the entry
of cold air via windows and other glazed areas, are fixed
above the air-intake openings to avoid heating the fresh-
air supply to a level above the room temperature, since Horizontalschnitt • Innenansicht Horizontal section • Internal elevation

of humidity to 70 per cent. Window ventilation is possi- 1 Frischluftansaugung 1 fresh-air intake
