Kate Winslet Is Mother Earth In Trailer For Genre-Bending Natural History Movie ‘DreamScapes’

DreamScapes

EXCLUSIVE: Kate Winslet has done something a little bit different for her latest role as she becomes Mother Earth.

In an exclusive trailer, which you can watch above, the Oscar-winning actress narrates DreamScapes, a genre-bending natural history doc showcasing the planet’s beauty via visuals and music.

The movie from Austria’s Hallmann Entertainment uses technology such as time-lapse sequences and aerial shots captured by drones to unveil the world’s landscapes, from below oceans to coasts, deserts and forest. Footage was captured by more than 250 videographers from 100 countries.

“I felt so excited to be part of something that was not focused on underlining the declining world but really amplifying the beautiful natural world that is still there,” said Winslet. “And we all have this shared responsibility to protect it. Being able to give my voice to something that felt very unique, very beautiful and very special was something I immediately my heart was drawn to it straight away.”

The film was written and directed by Christian Machacek and co-written by Larissa Kamtner. It was produced by Klemens Hallmann and executive-produced by Patrick Knapp-Schwarzenegger and Harro von Have. The score was composed by Edwin Wendler.
