Idris Elba is one of our all-time favorite actors. The British actor has swagger, depth, and a whole lot of smolder. One of Elba’s best-loved roles is his turn as Detective John Luther on the BBC’s hit neo-noir crime drama Luther. The show is a massive hit over in the UK and became a cult hit in America thanks to Netflix. If you’ve ever burned through all three seasons of Luther and thought, “Damn, is that it? I want more!”, then you’re in luck. Season 4 of Luther just hit Netflix.

Before you get super excited, there is something you need to know: the fourth season of Luther is far shorter than earlier seasons. It’s a two episode-long caper that pairs Elba with Downton Abbey and Game of Thrones alum Rose Leslie. Luther must team up with Leslie’s Detective Sergeant Emma Lane to track a cannibalistic murderer. (Ooo…creepy).

Elba explained the decision to British journalists last year: “I would get bored of playing John Luther if we stepped into a formula. If it was six episodes – over and over – I just couldn’t do that…The fact that I’ve only got two episodes to play with this time means that I have to fulfill the audience in a shorter space of time. That makes it a lot more exciting and more of a challenge.”
