Final Shots: Amazon Picks Up Sky Atlantic’s Original Drama ‘Fortitude’ To Series

Amazon announced today that it has picked up Sky Vision’s original drama Fortitude to series. The 10-episode Arctic thriller prides itself on an ensemble cast and is set to debut later this year on Prime Video in the U.S.

According to a press release, Fortitude stars Richard Dormer and Dennis Quaid among others and had originally premiered on Sky Atlantic in 2015. The series follows Sheriff Dan Anderssen (Dormer) of the small isolated community of Fortitude, whose captive population is battling a deadly parasite/pathogen. The first season, which had made the show the network’s most successful original drama to date, has already been available on Prime Video in the U.S. since January 2016.
