We all know that Prentice Penny, who has worked on shows such as Happy Endings, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Insecure, knows how to be funny. But he also knows how to be classy, and he’s helping us all achieve that one with his show Upscale with Prentice Penny.
The TruTV series just wrapped its first season, but anyone and everyone can learn a little something from it. Prentice brings along some famous faces, including Stephanie Beatriz, a Decider #WCW, and Adam Pally, to pick up some useful knowledge about relationships, social situations, and how to not be a loser, basically.
In admitting his own mistakes along the way, Prentice learns tips and tricks when it comes to food, travel, and even apologies, to navigate some of life’s messiest moments. The show never spends too much time on one topic, but still provides enough information for you to correct yourself, before keeping it moving. We’ve got a lot to learn.
Prentice goes in with a mostly open mind, and you should too. We’re not all the smartest, coolest people on the planet and you’re delusional if you don’t think you could use a tip or two. With Upscale, there’s certainly something you’ll connect with, from the pronunciation of “charcuterie”, to picking out a fragrance, to actually wrapping a present that doesn’t look like a disaster. With a host that’s not afraid to ask the questions we’re too embarrassed to say out loud, he’ll get the answers to things we all can use, while being funnier than anyone you actually know in your life. Becoming a super sophisticated human might be a lofty goal, but Prentice will at least get you started on the right path.
