The Maze Runner: The Death Cure

Powered by Reelgood

The way I see it, you have two options: either use the weekend to get ahead on work, chores, and the like… or you can do what you really wanna do, which is sit on the couch and spend at least one whole day watching nothing but television. Those are your options! You gotta follow your heart, and your heart is set on being entertained! Whether you use Amazon VideoiTunesVudu or your cable’s on demand service, there are always a lot of new releases out there waiting for you to discover!

First, let’s talk about movies that you can rent right now for just a few bucks. Have recent headlines and yesterday’s Oscar buzz made you curious about Steven Spielberg’s Watergate drama The Post? You’re not alone, and now you can watch it at home without adding it to your forever library! Maybe you want something less realistic, more action-y, and executed in the style of Liam Neeson. If that’s what you’re into, then rent The Commuter tonight! And if you don’t feel like stepping out of the house, you can rent the tennis drama/biopic Borg vs. McEnroe and see Shia LaBeouf knock it out of the park (that’s not a tennis reference).

What else can you buy or rent this week? Find out by taking a look at the collection of YA adventures, animated tales, and terrifying horror now available for you to enjoy from the comfort of your very own home!

Maze Runner: The Death Cure

Here it is, people–the final chapter in the Maze Runner film trilogy! Okay, these films probably flew under your radar if you’re not a fan of mazes, runners, or books about people who run mazes–but they grossed almost $1 billion combined worldwide! People love to watch attractive young adults run mazes in a dystopian setting, possibly in order to cure death! Okay, I don’t know anything about this flick, so let me pass the mic to IMDb:

“Young hero Thomas embarks on a mission to find a cure for a deadly disease known as ‘The Flare.'”

Okay, I admit that didn’t clarify much!

Peter Rabbit

The classic books by Beatrix Potter come to life in this feature film adaptation. James Corden stars as the voice of Peter Rabbit, with Daisy Ridley, Margot Robbie, and Elizabeth Debicki all voicing other fluffy, hoppity critters. The live-action cast includes Domhnall Gleeson and Rose Byrne, as well as a bushy-bearded Sam Neill as the antagonistic Mr. McGregor. Listen–just like with The Commuter, wherein Neill plays a cop, I’m going to tell you every single time Sam Neill has a part to play in a movie, no matter how big or small.

FernGully: The Last Rainforest

Remember the ’90s, when kids entertainment was seemingly bankrolled by Big Environment? We got Captain Planet on the small screen and, in 1992, FernGully: The Last Rainforest on the big screen. The animated film follows a lumberjack as he’s shrunk down to fairy size and learns that no good comes from deforestation. Helping him learn that message are a spunky fairy named Crysta and an unhinged bat voiced by a pre-Aladdin Robin Williams. Together they have to thwart a pollution-powered dark spirit named Hexxus, voiced by none other than Tim Curry. If you forgot this movie existed until right this moment, know that you can now relive it for just $0.99!
