Luckily, your favorite streaming platforms are dishing up (get it?) some great fare this weekend, so no matter if you’re interested in family time or alone time, you’re sure to find something to watch.

If you’re eagerly awaiting Game of Thrones Season 8, get your Jason Momoa fix with Frontier, his historical drama about the 18th century fur trade. The third season hits Netflix today, and it promises even more ass kicking, harp-throwing, and 1700s vengeance than ever before. Considering how things went last season, that’s a high bar to meet. Looking for something a little more family-friendly? Don’t miss Downsizing, Alexander Payne’s 2017 flick about a couple who shrink themselves down so they can join an experimental community. Or maybe you want to check out a new take on an old classic? In the newest Tomb Raider, Alicia Vikander steps into Lara Croft’s shoes for a dangerous rescue mission, and the Oscar winner does so with all the bad ass-ery of her predecessor, Angelina Jolie.

Frontier: Season 3

In Frontier, a Discovery Channel Canada and Netflix collab, Jason Momoa plays Declan Harp, a loner battling for his place in the fur trading economy of 18th century Canada. That may sound like a snooze and a half, but we assure you, it is not. Frontier comes packed with bloody battles, violent power struggles, and snow-filled survival stories, all with Aquaman and/or Khal Drago (pick your poison) at the center. Plus, the only thing better than a sweaty Jason Momoa is a sweaty Jason Momoa in fur, and Season 3 delivers that in spades.

Downsizing

Alexander Paynes 2017 dramedy follows a couple who decides to undergo a shrinking procedure to join a new, experimental community. Right as the procedure is about to take place, Audrey (Kristen Wiig) backs out, leaving Paul (Matt Damon) alone in the brave new (small) world. As Paul acclimates to the new environment, he meets a poor activist named Ngoc Lan Tran (Hong Chau), who was shrunk against her will by the government. With Ngoc Lan Tran’s help, Paul soon realizes that his life is full of privilege, and the two work together to make their downsized world more equitable for all.

Tomb Raider

The 2018 Tomb Raider reboot had a lot to live up to, and it delivered. Oscar winner Alicia Vikander stars as Lara Croft, a bike courier who embarks on a dangerous journey to find her archaeologist father after he mysteriously disappears. As Lara travels to Hong Kong to look for her father, she discovers more than a few sinister secrets that threaten everything she knows about her family. Tomb Raider isn’t the best adventure movie out there, but if you’re looking for something action-packed to watch this weekend, it’ll certainly keep you entertained.
