The weather may be frightful but that doesn’t mean your Wednesday needs to be. Decider is back again with another Woman Crush Wednesday. This week we’re offering up some well deserved praise to Hailee Steinfeld.

WHO’S THAT GAL: Hailee Steinfeld

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: It’s true, 2018 has been quite the year. But this week’s crush Hailee Steinfeld is no doubt winning her December.

All month long, Steinfeld has been promoting her movies Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Bumblebee. Not only is she starring in two multi-billion dollar movie franchises, but she even gets to debut an original song too! As if starring in such iconic movies wasn’t enough, Steinfeld wrote and sang “Back to Life”, which appears on the Bumblebee soundtrack. And let me tell you, it is totally a bop. Time and time again, Steinfeld has impressed us with her nuanced performances, but this month she’s completely gone above and beyond. This lovely lady is a distinguished young movie star and we can’t help but love her and her incredible music.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Steinfeld’s breakout role was Mattie Ross in the 2010 remake of True Grit, where she also scored an Oscar nom. Since then she has appeared alongside A-List actors in Begin Again, Pitch Perfect 2, and Pitch Perfect 3. She also played Juliet in the 2013 remake of Romeo & Juliet, with Douglass Booth and Ed Westwick. In 2016, Steinfeld starred in the coming of age flick The Edge of Seventeen

While she thrives as an actor, Steinfeld also has a blossoming music career. After her appearance in Pitch Perfect 2, the actress released a cover of the song “Flashlight,” which was originally performed by Jessie J. Shortly after, she was signed to Republic Records and released her first EP Haiz. Her singles “Love Myself” and “Starving” both appear on the EP. She has done collabs with Zedd, DNCE, and Machine Gun Kelly and even made a cameo in Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” music video.

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: You, my friend, are in luck because there are so many opportunities to see Steinfeld again. She voiced Gwen Stacy in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which is in theaters as we speak. She also stars as Charlie Watson in the Transformers prequel Bumblebee, hitting theaters this weekend. Next year, Steinfeld will also be starring in Dickinson, a biographical series revolving around the life of Emily Dickinson.
