Say goodbye to the work week and hello to the relaxing weekend! If you’ve played your cards right, the only commitments you have for the next couple days are no commitments. You’re footloose and fancy-free, and I know just what you need to do besides a whole lot of nothing:  watch new movies! Whether you use Amazon Video, iTunes, Vudu or your cable’s on demand service, there are a lot of new releases out there waiting for you to discover.

Among this week’s new releases are Liam Neeson’s action movie Cold Pursuit, the Dolph Lundgren zombie film Dead Trigger, the wrestling dramedy Fighting with My Family (featuring Dwayne Johnson as himself, BTW!), and the horror sequel Happy Death Day 2U. You can also rent Mads Mikkelsen in Arctic, or the WTF-iest movie of 2019, Serenity starring Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway.

What else can you buy or rent this week? Find out by taking a look at the collection of romcoms, family friendly cartoons, and horror films!

Isn’t It Romantic

This ain’t your typical romcom. Rebel Wilson breaks the mold as a disaffected woman who finds herself trapped in a stereotypical Hollywood romcom. Liam Hemsworth co-stars as Wilson’s potential love interest The cast also includes Adam DeVine as a rival love interest for Wilson’s affections, and features Priyanka Chopra as something known as a “yoga ambassador.” You can purchase Isn’t It Romantic right now at full price, or you can rent it starting on May 21.

How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World

This trilogy-closer became a massive worldwide sensation when it hit theaters earlier this year, earning over $500 million worldwide. The film follows Hiccup on his journey to a secret underground realm of dragons. Meanwhile, his best bud Toothless meets the love of his dragon life, Light Fury. This is fun for the whole family, especially if the kids have grown up alongside the franchise since the first film was released in 2010. You can buy The Hidden World right now or wait just a little longer and rent it on May 21.

The Disaster Artist

If you love bad movies but your couch-surfing buddy likes good movies, there’s only one option: a good movie about a bad movie. That’s what the acclaimed dramedy The Disaster Artist is, essentially. The Disaster Artist tells the wild, true story about the making of The Room, the most notorious bad movie of the 21st century with James Franco disappearing into the highly affected, quasi-tragic, mostly maniacal role of Tommy Wiseau. Franco’s brother Dave plays Wiseau’s skeptical collaborator, struggling actor Greg Sestero. It’s definitely a must-watch for those that like trainwreck flicks as it humanizes the madness that went into The Room. And if you don’t have a Prime Video account, where it’s streaming for free, you can rent it for $0.99 in iTunes right now.
