Almost 40 years after Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal first premiered, the iconic fantasy series is back with a new iteration. Today, Netflix unveiled the first trailer for The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, a 10-episode prequel about three young Gelflings who rebel against against a group of powerful villains intent on spreading darkness across the land. In addition to dropping the teaser, Netflix also announced that the prequel series will debut August 30. It’s going to be a long summer, Henson fans.

The official description of The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance is as follows (per Netflix):

Based on The Dark Crystal, Jim Henson’s groundbreaking 1982 feature film, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance tells a new epic story, set many years before the events of the movie, and realized using classic puppetry with cutting edge visual effects. The world of Thra is dying. The Crystal of Truth is at the heart of Thra, a source of untold power. But it is damaged, corrupted by the evil Skeksis, and a sickness spreads across the land. When three Gelfling uncover the horrific truth behind the power of the Skeksis, an adventure unfolds as the fires of rebellion are lit and an epic battle for the planet begins.

In terms of star-power, Netflix’s The Dark Crystal prequel is fully stacked. Taron Egerton, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Nathalie Emmanuel voice Rian, Brea, and Deet, respectively, the three Gelfling heroes who set out to take down the Skeksis. Caitriona Balfe, Helena Bonham Carter, Theo James, and more top talent will also play Gelflings, while Mark Hamill, Keegan-Michael Key, and Andy Samberg will voice the Skeksis and Mystics. As if that weren’t enough, Natalie Dormer, Eddie Izzard, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Alicia Vikander also round out the stellar voice cast. Is there anyone not in this show?
