Attention romantic comedy lovers: There’s a new Hulu miniseries based on the beloved film, Four Weddings and a Funeral, co-created by none other than romantic comedy extraordinaire, Mindy Kaling, alongside writer Matt Warburton. It’s also called, unsurprisingly, Four Weddings and a Funeral, and stars Nathalie Emmanuel, Rebecca Rittenhouse, John Paul Reynolds, and Brandon Mychal Smith as four American friends who reunite at a wedding in London. All the ingredients for a good time are there, but, unfortunately, most critics feel something in the recipe was off.
Luckily, you can always watch the original 1994 British film directed by Mike Newell and written by Richard Curtis. If you’ve never seen it, do watch it as soon as you can—it features Hugh Grant at his most charming, Andie MacDowell at her most charming, and all the romantic comedy tropes you know and love, done very, very well.
