Debbie Allen isn’t letting social distancing keep her from getting her getting her groove on, even if it means busting a move from the living room, and not the dance floor. And she wants you to join her — the Fame and Grey’s Anatomy star is hosting her own dance class on Instagram live, to keep her followers and fans moving from the safety of their own homes.

The award-winning actress, 70, is inviting everyone to tune in to her Instagram today at 4/3c to join her in the online class, she announced on Twitter yesterday (March 17). “Let’s get those bodies moving!” Allen posted.

Allen, who in the 1980s played dance teacher Lydia Grant in Fame, earned two Primetime Emmys for Outstanding Choreography for her work as chief choreographer on the series. She joined the Grey’s Anatomy cast in 2011 in the role of Dr. Catherine Fox, and has also served as a producer and director on the hit drama.

The multi-talented performer expanded her love for dance in 2001 with the opening of the Debbie Allen Dance Academy, a non-profit dance school in Los Angeles, California. She’s also served as a judge on the reality competition series So You Think You Can Dance since 2007.

Allen’s Wednesday dance livestream caught the attention of Grey’s Anatomy executive producer Shonda Rhimes, who tweeted, “What style of dance are we doing? I am gonna be in front of my computer ready to work it!” Hopefully, Rhimes will livestream herself dancing to Allen’s dance livestream, and the circle will be complete.
