New on Netflix June 19: The Politician Season 2

Ryan Murphy’s Netflix-original series The Politician is back for another crazy, scandal-packed, politically-charged season. New on Netflix this weekend, Season 2 of this political comedy takes a massive time jump while simultaneously raises the stakes. Payton Hobart (Ben Platt) is back, but this time, he’s vying for a seat in the New York State Senate (as part of his plan to take the presidency, of course) against Dede Standish (Judith Light), a concerned incumbent who must rely on her chief of staff to salvage her spot. But will Hobart unseat her with his political savvy and dogged determination, or will Standish endeavor? Starring Gwyneth Paltrow, Zoey Deutch, Bette Midler (!) and more, The Politician is one of the top shows this month that we have been dying to see.

New on Hulu June 17: Love, Victor

Premiering on Hulu earlier than expected, Love, Victor is a brand-new original series designed as the sequel to the great film Love, Simon (sorta). This teen romcom follows the journey of one teenage boy who finds himself attracted to both the popular girl and another dreamy guy at his new high school. Originally for Disney+ but moved due to its “mature content,” Love, Victor is an endearing series all about the struggles of growing up as a teen in midst of the perpetual grey area that is one’s sexuality. New on Amazon Prime Video June 18: 7500

7500 is an action-thriller film that is new on Amazon Prime this month. Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, the movie centers on a terrorist plane hijacking. When co-pilot Tobias Ellis suddenly finds his cockpit overcome with terrorists and his leader fatally wounded, he must step up and take the cockpit back from the insurgents on board. But when they begin to take passengers and flight crew hostage — including his girlfriend — and threaten to kill them unless permitted access, Ellis is faced with some difficult — and life-altering — decisions.
