The Trolls are about to forego their world tour for a permanent residency at a venue very near you: your living room. That’s right—DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls World Tour is now available to own on VOD. That means you’ll be able to rewatch the hit animated film over and over again. On top of that, you’ll be able to own the film on Blu-ray and DVD! The Trolls are coming!
So how can you watch Trolls World Tour? Will Trolls World Tour be on Netflix? And when will the Trolls World Tour Blu-ray be released? Here’s what you need to know!
When will Trolls World Tour be released digitally?
Trolls World Tour arrives for purchase on digital platforms starting on June 23. You’ll be able to own a digital copy of the hit kids’ movie on VOD platforms like iTunes, Prime Video, FandangoNow, Google Play, Vudu, and more. A digital copy will also be available to download if you buy Trolls World Tour on Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray, or 4K UHD—but you’ll have to wait a few weeks.
When will Trolls World Tour be available to rent digitally?
If you have kids or a general interest in the Trolls franchise, you’ve probably already rented Trolls World Tour digitally. Due to COVID-19, the film skipped a traditional theatrical release and instead went straight to VOD platforms back in April. It was available to rent at the full price of $19.99. Now, though, Trolls World Tour will presumably be available to rent at a greatly reduced rental price, most likely on July 7.
When will the Trolls World Tour Blu-ray be released?
Trolls World Tour will be released on Blu-ray on July 7. You’ll also have the option to purchase Trolls World Tour in four different formats: there’s the 3D Blu-ray release (also comes with Blu-ray and digital copy), the 4K UDH release (also comes with Blu-ray and digital copy), the Blu-ray release (also comes with DVD and digital copy), and the DVD release. All versions of the release come with the “Dance Party Edition.”
When is Trolls World Tour coming to DVD?
Trolls World Tour will be released on DVD on July 7. Note that a DVD copy of the film will also be included with the Blu-ray release.
What special features will be included?
All versions of the film will come with “Dance Party Mode,” which will encourage viewers to sing and dance along to interactive elements. If you just want to watch the interactive parts, you can activate “Trolls Dance Academy.” Also included is “Tiny Diamond Goes Back to School,” an exclusive original short film. There’s also the “Trolls World Tourist Map,” feature commentary, deleted scenes, and the “Trolls Perfect Harmony” featurette featuring interviews with the cast. Blu-ray, 4K, and digital copies of the film will come with an additional making-of featurette.
When will Trolls World Tour be on Netflix?
Even though previous DreamWorks films were available to stream on Netflix and there are animated series based on plenty of DreamWorks films still on the service, Trolls World Tour will not be available to stream on Netflix.
Instead, Trolls World Tour will most likely be available to stream on Universal’s upcoming streaming service Peacock—at some point. The service launches on July 15, and that service will most likely become the streaming home of many DreamWorks animated features. However, there’s no word yet on when Trolls World Tour will be added to the service.
