Just when you need it most, the Bartlet administration is back. HBO Max has released the first official trailer for its West Wing reunion to benefit When We All Vote, a non-profit, nonpartisan organization co-chaired by Michelle Obama. Allison Janney, Richard Schiff, Rob Lowe, and the rest of The West Wing cast will join forces to recreate the iconic “Hartsfield’s Landing” episode on stage, all for a good cause. What could be better?

HBO Max’s new special marks the first time in 17 years that the original West Wing cast will come together with creator Aaron Sorkin, so fans of the show definitely won’t want to miss it. WHAT IS THE WEST WING HBO SPECIAL?

This month, the cast of The West Wing will reunite for A West Wing Special to Benefit When We All Vote, a fundraiser aimed at increasing voter participation. The special will see the entire original cast perform a stage production of Season 3, Episode 14, “Hartsfield’s Landing,” in which President Bartlet (Martin Sheen) plays chess with Sam (Rob Lowe) and Toby (Richard Schiff) both literally and figuratively.

The West Wing reunion special will debut next Thursday, October 15 on HBO Max.

WEST WING CAST REUNION: WHO WILL BE THERE?

Practically the entire West Wing cast will be appearing in the reunion special. Dulé Hill, Allison Janney, Rob Lowe, Janel Moloney, Richard Schiff, Bradley Whitford, and Martin Sheen will step into the suits of their beloved characters, while Sterling K. Brown will play Chief of Staff Leo McGarry, in a role originally played by the late John Spencer.

Additionally, The West Wing reunion will feature a variety of special guests, including Michelle Obama, President Bill Clinton, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and more.

A West Wing Special to Benefit When We All Vote will stream exclusively on HBO Max. WarnerMedia’s new streaming service costs $14.99/month, but if you’re already an HBO subscriber, there’s a good chance you already have access to the platform.
