Bridgerton is shaping up to be the next big Netflix hit, and it’s no surprise. Between the steamy sex scenes, swoon-worthy costumes and talented leads, Shonda Rhimes’ new drama is all anyone can talk about. Plus, it claimed a spot in the Netflix Top 10 nearly instantly and has stayed there, hovering at the top ever since.

While that’s all proof enough of Bridgerton‘s popularity, Netflix is giving us some numbers to support the Bridgerton craze not long after its Dec. 25 premiere. Since its debut on Netflix, Bridgerton is projected to have pulled in viewers from 63 million households, Netflix revealed today.

Along with Bridgerton‘s success, Netflix also revealed numbers for We Can Be Heroesa new film from Spy Kids and Shark Boy and Lava Girl filmmaker Robert Rodriguez. We Can Be Heroes, which also premiered on Christmas Day, was viewed by 44 million households since its streaming premiere. Together, the numbers mark Netflix’s biggest viewing week yet between Christmas and New Year’s.

Netflix’s numbers for Dec. 25-31 were measured using both total viewing hours and average viewing hours per subscriber. In order to determine the popularity of is content, the streaming platform measures viewership by factoring in how many subscribers have watched at least two minutes of a show or movie.

Bridgerton, a period drama that marks Rhimes’ first project with Netflix under her lucrative development deal, follows Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), a young woman entering the marriage market in Regency era London, and Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page), the Duke who becomes her love interest.

The Bridgerton news comes not long after Netflix shared stats for another hit show from late 2020, The Queen’s Gambit. The series broke records at Netflix and remains in the Top 10 to this day, months after it first premiered in October. In November, Netflix shared that 62 million households had streamed The Queen’s Gambit in its first 28 days, earning the title of Netflix’s biggest scripted limited series to date.
