Jodie Foster captured Golden Globes gold last night as she earned the Best Supporting Actress award for her portrayal of Nancy Hollander in Kevin Macdonald’s legal drama The Mauritanian.

Based on Mohamedou Ould Slahi’s best-selling memoir “GuantánamoDiary,” the film follows Slahi’s (Tahar Rahim) fight for freedom after being detained and imprisoned without charge by the U.S. Government. Slahi eventually receives help in the form of two allies, defense attorney Nancy Hollander (Jodie Foster) and her associate Teri Duncan (Shailene Woodley). Also starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Zachary Levi, Saamer Usmani, and Corey Johnson, the movie currently boasts a 70% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes.
