How about some creepy Ring Around the Rosie to shake things up this Halloween? Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin, the seventh installment in the Paranormal Activity franchise, dropped its first trailer with some pilgrim-style horror in store. And not only that, we now know the film will land on Paramount+ just in time for Halloween.

In the new trailer, we get to see some kids doing their creepy song and dance among elders that appear to be big trouble. Sitting around a table for a Thanksgiving-Esque dinner in an eerie group of what could be a cult, the patriarchal figure begins to give a speech.

“We are grateful to have our sister Margo return to us,” he begins. But as he slams his fist down on the dinner table in another scene, it becomes clear that all is not as it seems. When is it ever, in the Paranormal Activity universe? With that, the brief trailer switches to some creepy found footage bites, teasing the real heart of the franchise.

While we have the first teaser, the rest of the plot for Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin is being kept relatively under wraps. Best to keep all those thrilling plot twists a secret, right? All we know so far is that “the new film will bring fans an unexpected reimagining of the beloved horror franchise,” per Paramount’s description of the film.

The film stars Emily Bader, Roland Buck III, Dan Lippert, and Henry Ayers-Brown. Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin is directed by William Eubank of The Signal and Underwater. The film is written by Blumhouse alum Christopher Landon, who has also penned scripts for Freaky and Happy Death Day. Jason Blum and Oren Peli serve as producers, with Landon, Steven Schneider, and Jenny Hinkey on as Executive Producers.

Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin will be available to stream exclusively on Paramount+ on Oct. 29. Scroll up to watch the first trailer for the upcoming horror film.
