Dr. Tom Koracick is coming back. On Thursday (Nov. 4), Entertainment Weekly reported that actor Greg Germann will guest-star on the next episode of Grey’s Anatomy Season 18, reprising his role in the long-running medical drama.

Germann first joined the ABC series in Season 14, playing arrogant yet witty neurosurgeon Tom. He departed Grey’s Anatomy as a series regular earlier this year, as Tom left Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital to help fellow doctor Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) run his family’s medical foundation in Boston.

Now he’s back… as a guest star! In the next episode of Grey’s Anatomy, Tom will show up to help Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone) conduct a Parkinson’s Disease study in Minnesota. But from the looks of a sneak preview obtained by EW, not everyone is going to be thrilled about his return.

Of course, Germann isn’t the only actor who’s returned to Grey’s Anatomy this season. Scott Speedman is reprising his role as transplant surgeon Nick Marsh, while Kate Walsh’s beloved character Addison Forbes Montgomery returned to share an emotional Grey Sloan Memorial reunion with Meredith. Even Kate Burton appeared this season as Meredith’s late mother Dr. Ellis Grey, who died way back in Season 3. The surprises just keep coming.

Grey’s Anatomy returns Thursday, Nov. 11, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
