Ridley Scott‘s beloved Blade Runner saga is heading to the small screen. Amazon Studios is putting together a live-action series set in the Blade Runner universe with Scott attached as executive producer. Blade Runner 2099, set to be a follow-up to the feature film sequel Blade Runner 2049, is currently in development, meaning the replicants will return soon.

Silka Luisa, showrunner of Starz’s upcoming Elizabeth Moss-led drama Shining Girls will write and executive produce Blade Runner 2099, which comes from Scott Free Productions in association with Alcon Entertainment and Amazon Studios.

Currently, the project is in priority development at Amazon Studios, Deadline reports. Blade Runner 2099, which would mark the first Blade Runner live-action series, is fast tracking scripts, eyeing potential production dates, and staffing a writers’ room for the show. Scott, who directed the original 1982 film, may direct if the series moves forward.

Blade Runner, which is an adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, is set in a dystopian Los Angeles in 2019. Synthetic humans called “replicants” are bioengineered to work for the massive Tyrell Corporations, but when a handful of advanced replicants escape back to Earth, a cop (Harrison Ford) hunts them down.

The film earned a sequel from Dune director Denis Villeneuve in 2017. Set in 2049, the Ryan Gosling-led reboot followed the star as another replicant blade runner who uncovers a secret that threatens to throw society off course for years into the future. Ford and James Olmos reprised their roles from the original series, with Ana de Armas, Dave Bautista, and Jared Leto also starring.

As the title hints, Blade Runner 2099 would take place another half century into the future, and a whole 80 years after the original film. Any further plot details are currently under wraps.

Blade Runner 2099 isn’t the only series within the universe. Last year, Blade Runner: Black Lotus debuted on Adult Swim and Crunchyroll. Set in 2032, the anime series centers around a female replicant voiced by Jessie Henwick.

Keep checking back for further details released about Blade Runner 2099.
